    They've done it!

Ethan Bamber is fittingly the man to take the title-winning wicket - he finishes as top wicket taker in Division One with 69.

Congratulations Warwickshire - they have won a ninth County Championship title!

Plenty of shouts of 'You Bears' as the home faithful try to give their heroes the extra boost needed to take the final wicket.

Leicestershire's batters Tom Scriven and Josh Hull have survived the first over after lunch.

Calvin Harrison lets out a yelp as he turns one back into Max Holden's front pad. On we go

Ben Geddes plays easily into the legside off Yuzi Chahal in the next over for a single which takes the runs required below 50.

    Glamorgan 505 v Essex 129 & 83-1

One big shout for lbw is the only thing to rattle Essex nerves so far this afternoon.

It looked close but was turned down.

Dean Elgar and Tom Westley have now shared Essex's first 50 partnership of the game.

There is still a long, long way to go for the visitors but Essex supporters may be looking at tomorrow's forecast more intently as today progresses.

    Derbys 120-6 - target 333

Amrit Basra edges a ball from Tom Taylor.

Second and third slip remain stationary like statues as it flies between them and down to the boundary.

We'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it might not have carried.

Basra ends the over by clouting it over mid-wicket for six.

    Middx 83-2 v Northants - target 134

The running between the wickets has been really positive from Ben Geddes and Max Holden.

They pinch three singles from Yuzi Chahal's fourth over, with at least one looking in doubt had there been a direct hit.

Holden moves within nine of a season-ending fifty and his side need just 51 more.

  7. A record fourth-wicket partnership for Somersetpublished at 14:06 BST 26 September

    Somerset 413-3 v Surrey 422

Tom Lammonby and Tom Abell have now been together for 316 runs.

That is a record for the fourth wicket for Somerset against any first class opposition.

Abell was involved in the previous best of 313 with James Rew against Nottinghamshire last season.

    Here we go then.

A wonderful welcome back onto the pitch for the players from the Edgbaston crowd.

You can sense the excitement and anticipation.

Warwickshire are one wicket away from the title.

Chris Woakes to take up the attack after the interval.

Enjoying listening to the denouement of the County Cricket season on a plane between Singapore and Melbourne. A good season for Northants despite them (likely!) missing promotion. Sheffield Shield starts 7th of October!

Chris, somewhere over the Java sea

Another great contest between bat & ball down at Taunton!! Maybe the pitch inspectors need to take a look at this surface as although not dangerous it’s hardly a spectacle in a sporting sense.

Ben Allison has bowled superbly today but Luis Reece sashays out of his crease and hoists the Worcestershire seamer over mid-wicket for six.

The left-hander progresses to 49 not out.

  11. 400 up for Somersetpublished at 14:01 BST 26 September

    Somerset 400-3 v Surrey 422

Tom Abell collects a single and up comes the Somerset 400 now.

Henry Nicholls was the last wicket to fall by the way, midway through the 26th over, before tea yesterday

Surrey have bowled 113.4 overs now.

    Kent 353 v Glos 229 & 172-7

This has been a very mature knock from 21-year-old Kamran Dhariwal in only his third first-class match.

Seemingly unfazed by the match position, he is playing each ball on its merits and has 38 not out from 77 balls.

Che Simmons is at the other end now. He pulls a short one from Khaled Ahmed, but can't beat the field and has to settle for one.

The Glos lead is now 48.

    Whiteman c Hay b Hutton 12 (Notts v Yorks 70-2 - target 158)

    Another one for Notts.

Sam Whiteman brings out a lovely cover drive for four off Brett Hutton, but the burly Notts bowler exacts swift revenge.

He keeps plugging away outside off stump and forces Whiteman to fence at one which takes the edge.

Mitch Hay takes his second catch of the innings in front of first slip.

Jams Wharton is in with Yorkshire needing just 88 more runs.

    Hants 68-5 v Sussex - target 436

    That looked close!

James Coles, from around the wicket, turns one back into the pads of Nick Gubbins who is deep in his crease.

But he receives the benefit of the doubt. Not out.

  16. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 13:56 BST 26 September

    Somerset 392-3 v Surrey 422

Tom Abell goes aerial off Ralphie Albert.

Dom Sibley is running back as the ball drops over his shoulder, a dive enables him to get his hands to it but he grasses it.

Good catch if he had held on, but it goes down as a drop, a third of the day from Surrey.

An old-fashioned look on the final day of the season at Edgbaston as the spectators are allowed on to inspect the wicket

    . . . they think it's all over!

It isn't now. But it might not be much longer that Warwickshire have to keep the champagne on ice.

Leicestershire's last pair still need another 80 runs to make the hosts bat again.

So it's a return to the old ways to entertain the crowd at the break.

They have all been allowed on to inspect the square at Edgbaston - and it makes for a lovely sight in the Birmingham sunshine.

It isn't quite the 2,500 crowd that enjoyed free admission to come in on the first day but, in yet another football international break, the Bears really could not have picked a better day to wrap up a title.

Only two Foxes stand between them and County Championship glory - and it will take something particularly fantastic to stop the Bears now!

I don’t know the stats but our bowling attack over the last four or five matches has been nothing short of clinical. Come on you Bears!

    Notts v Yorks 60-1 - target 158

A fine chase from Tom Giles to the third man boundary prevents Will Luxton taking Liam Patterson-White for four.

The batters come through for three, though, to bring the runs required below 100.

Brett Hutton then keeps Sam Whiteman honest with another maiden, but it would take an almighty collapse for Yorkshire to throw this one away.

Ben Geddes (14) and Max Holden (34) get their skates on to take two scampered singles off Calvin Harrison's latest over.

The second of which brings up a fine 50 partnership from this pair for the third wicket.

They came in at 12-2 and have had the kitchen sink thrown at them by the visitors.

    Just 72 more needed.

Matt Milnes angles one across Sai Kishore, who pushes tentatively at the ball and Tawanda Muyeye takes the catch at first slip.

That is the fourth five-for for Milnes in this season's Championship. He's been back to his best since returning to Canterbury from Yorkshire.
