  1. 50 partnership for Derbyshirepublished at 13:50 BST 26 September

    Derbys 89-6 - target 333

There's that late swing again for Ben Allison, but Luis Reece manages to get enough of a bat on it to collect a single and post a 50 stand with Amrit Basra.

It's taken them 87 balls together and they've done really well considering the disarray Derbyshire were in when they came together.

  2. Postpublished at 13:49 BST 26 September

    Glamorgan 505 v Essex 129 & 76-1

Dean Elgar clips one down to the deep-third rope for four runs to move to 40 not out.

The sun is out in Cardiff and batting looks at its easiest for the visitors in this game.

The forecast for tomorrow is not the cleverest so, if they can just keep going.

There's that word though - 'if'

  3. Rocky time for Flintoffpublished at 13:47 BST 26 September

    Lancashire 87-4 v Durham 493

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

What an over from Brydon Carse, who is really going great guns just after lunch.

Rocky Flintoff left one ball which angled back and almost hit off stump. Next ball he was plumb lbw on 11, but umpire Sue Redfern signalled a no ball!

Carse got him leg-before with the next delivery anyway - all of this while Rocky's dad Andrew looked on from the top floor of the pavilion.

Both were as plumb as a row of plum trees in Evesham.

Durham are making inroads now, with Callum Parkinson getting a lot of turn out of the track.

The follow-on target is 344. Lancashire have not got past 300 since April!

  4. 200 runs

200 for Tom Lammonbypublished at 13:46 BST 26 September

    Somerset 382-3 v Surrey 422

A first career double century for Somerset's Tom Lammonby.

His previous best in first class cricket was 133 so he is well beyond that and who is to say there is not a lot more to come?

Lammonby gets to 200 from 337 balls with 23 fours and two sixes.

He is by no means done yet.

  5. 50 runs

50 up for Hantspublished at 13:44 BST 26 September

    Hants 51-5 v Sussex - target 436

A lovely shot from Nick Gubbins brings four as he goes on the back foot and whips Jack Carson through the legside.

Jaydev Unadkat then errs in his line, going too straight, and Gubbins helps himself to another boundary to move to 33 and takes Hampshire past the fifty mark.

A rare bright spot on another tough day for the bottom side.

You have to say he's deserved that.

Braydon Carse whistles a rapid delivery past Rocky Flintoff's defensive bat and the Lancashire youngster is gone.

Matty Hurst is in at six for the Red Rose.

  7. Postpublished at 13:38 BST 26 September

    Somerset 373-3 v Surrey 422

Absolutely nothing happening for this Surrey bowling attack.

The ball is 28 overs old now and it all looks very easy for Somerset.

The partnership is now up to 276 for Tom Abell and Tom Lammonby - a Somerset record for the fourth wicket against Surrey.

Up until a month ago I never considered Warwickshire winning the Championship ! Somerset and Nottinghamshire have fallen away badly in the last couple of weeks. A big thumbs up for my team Sussex and a possible 3rd place after all their problems

    Robert, Sussex

A last wicket stand of 400 from Leics isn't too much to ask, right? Right??

    Lyth c Hay b Hutton 21 (Notts v Yorks 54-1 - target 158)

    We spoke too soon.

Just as Yorkshire looked to be cruising, Adam Lyth pushes at a Brett Hutton ball outside off stump and he nicks an edge through to Mitch Hay who takes the catch tumbling to his left.

Boy did Nottinghamshire need that. Sam Whiteman is in.

  10. Postpublished at 13:35 BST 26 September

    Glamorgan 505 v Essex 129 & 63-1

Some loose fielding and three boundaries for Essex.

Dean Elgar, in his final innings before retirement has reached 35 not out.

  11. 50 runs

Will Luxton pulls Tom Giles over cow corner for six to bring up the 50-run opening stand with Asam Lyth.

It's come off just 70 balls and is taking all of the jeopardy out of this chase.

It all looks pretty simple. In sharp contrast to the travails of the hosts this morning.

    Yorkshire need 104 more.

  12. Postpublished at 13:33 BST 26 September

    Kent 353 v Glos 229 v 161-6

    Ouch!

Matt Milnes strikes Sai Kishore somewhere 'amidships' and the Indian falls to the floor in obvious pain.

We have a delay while the physio checks him out. The magic spray is applied to his torso.

Looks like he'll be ok to carry on.

A new session but the same old story for Hampshire.

Ben Brown feathers one behind to John Simpson while trying to sweep to give a first wicket of the day to Jack Carson.

  14. Postpublished at 13:31 BST 26 September

    Middx 55-2 v Northants - target 134

Ben Sanderson draws Ben Geddes into the drive with a lovely ball which moves away late and so nearly takes the outside edge.

The experienced seamer then oversteps to take Middlesex two runs closer to their target. The Lord's crowd continues to hum pleasantly.

  15. 50 runs

50 up for Essexpublished at 13:30 BST 26 September

    Better from the visitors.

They were five wickets down when they reached 50 in their first innings.

That is finally the lunch break in Birmingham with the Bears one wicket away from winning the County Championship Division One title.

They looked odds on to have things wrapped up before the interval but the final Foxes pair of Tom Scriven and Josh Hull have dug in to hold them up.

Play is set to resume at a few minutes past 2pm when the hosts will be back all guns blazing to take the final wicket they need.

  17. Postpublished at 13:27 BST 26 September

    Middx 53-2 v Northants - target 134

Harry Conway has been bang on the money so far today, but is denied a second maiden by a rare loose delivery which is cut away for four by Ben Geddes.

Middlesex move past 50 and within 81 of victory as they seek a fourth-place finish in Division Two.

  18. Postpublished at 13:26 BST 26 September

    Kent 353 v Glos 229 & 158-6

    How did that miss?

An airy drive by Sai Kishore at an inswinging delivery from Keith Dudgeon which is millimetres away from off stump as it flies through to the keeper.

  19. Postpublished at 13:24 BST 26 September

    Notts v Yorks 40-0 - target 158

A rare false step from Yorkshire today as Brett Hutton induces a thick outside edge from Adam Lyth and it flies past Lyndon James at third slip for four more.

Decent over that, but no breakthrough and the visitors need just 118 runs more.

  20. Yorkshire resume chasepublished at 13:22 BST 26 September

    Notts v Yorks 36-0 - target 158

It's been a deeply disappointing day for Nottinghamshire so far.

The defending champs started the day with a chance of climbing to second with victory but could well end the season in fourth. They led the division at the beginning of the month.

Tom Giles - who was subbed in for the injured Olly Stone - gets the session under way and serves up a wide delivery outside off stump which Adam Lyth helps on its way to the rope to move to 14.

    Yorkshire need just 122 more.
