A fourth wicket for Mahipal Lomror as Craig Overton tries to hit him into the stands but skies it to Ralphie Albert at mid off.

    Hill st Hay b Patterson-White 4 (Notts v Yorks 129-6 - target 158)

Every time it seems Yorkshire are cruising, another wicket falls.

George Hill has had a terrific season, but that's a poor choice of shot.

He dances down the wicket to Liam Patterson-White and is stumped for the second time in the match by Mitch Hay.

Four wickets for Notts and 29 more runs for Yorkshire as Dom Bess troops out.

Mohammad Ali and Jonny Bairstow are having a spicy little duel here after that hearty lbw appeal.

The Yorkshire skipper gets the upper hand for now as the Pakistan bowler goes too straight again and Bairstow clips it for six.

Just 31 for victory now. Notts need five wickets.

  5. Elgar 'set for fine send-off'published at 15:52 BST 26 September

    Glamorgan 505 v Essex 129 & 169-1 - tea

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Chalk and cheese between the two Essex innings after following on as the visitors gave themselves hope of avoiding defeat with a much stronger display following on.

After losing four wickets in the morning , the afternoon session was a completely different affair as Essex put their first innings nightmare behind them with Dean Elgar and Tom Westley looking largely untroubled.

South African veteran Elgar is set for a fine send-off as he approaches a ton in his final professional match, though he was almost run out by a Mason Crane direct hit just before tea.

Westley reached 50 in the last over of the session as Glamorgan worked their way through seven bowlers without creating any chances.

Jonny Bairstow is halfway down the wicket before George Hill sends his senior partner back.

The turn is a little, shall we say, slow, but he gets back.

Mohammad Ali strays onto the pads again and George Hill runs a leg bye.

The Pakistan international then jags one back into Bairstow's pads and beseeches the umpire to give it. He remains unmoved.

Good spell this. Ali has fire in the belly.

  9. 500 up for Somersetpublished at 15:45 BST 26 September

    Somerset 502-5 v Surrey 422

    The misery continues for Surrey.

Up comes the Somerset 500 as Tom Abell reverse sweeps for four and the lead stretches to 80 runs.

Full length delivery from JT Langridge strikes Ben Compton on the pad and he is gone.

Unlikely to dampen the celebratory mood at the St Lawrence Ground, but Compton doesn't look too chuffed about it.

Before play started on Thursday I questioned Trent Bridge’s decision to schedule the Blaze’s lap of honour for lunchtime on day 4. No play tomorrow with rain likely. Their incredible achievement deserves better.

  12. Tea at Cardiffpublished at 15:42 BST 26 September

    Glamorgan 505 v Essex 129 & 169-1

Some excellent fight and resistance shown by Essex in that session as they come through without losing a wicket and score 132 runs in the process.

Dean Elgar, in his final first class innings has stood firm for his 94 while skipper Tom Westley (50*) has offered excellent support in an unbroken stand of 138.

Glamorgan have found it hard to create opportunities in good batting conditions at Cardiff.

50 for Tom Westleypublished at 15:41 BST 26 September

    Glamorgan 505 v Essex 129 & 169-1

Good fight from the Essex skipper Tom Westley as he nudges a single and gets to 50.

He is showing the way for his side to try to save this game.

Zak Crawley appears to be in a bit of a hurry.

Two balls later, a flick off the hip brings him four more.

Liam Patterson-White continues after tea and keeps Jonny Bairstow honest, pushing forward in defence.

Tidy stuff from the slow left-armer.

Mohammad Ali runs in for his 10th over - and bags another!

Matthew Revis can do nothing about that as the ball keeps low and takes out the off pole.

Another twist? Man of the moment George Hill comes to the crease with 42 needed.

  18. Postpublished at 15:36 BST 26 September

    Notts v Yorks 116-4 - target 158

Matthew Revis shows intent from the very first ball of the session and picks up three as a stiff-looking Brett Hutton gives chase.

Jonny Bairstow follows with a drive down the ground for four with the next. Not the start that home skip Haseeb Hameed would have been after.

A quick single for Bairstow and the win is 'just' 42 runs away.

Zak Crawley is making good use of the angle whenever left-armer JT Langridge drops a bit short.

There is another boundary off the back foot for the England opener and he moves into double figures.

  20. Postpublished at 15:36 BST 26 September
