Dropped catchpublished at 15:27 BST 26 September

    Kent 4-0 - target 118

Zak Crawley pushes forward to JT Langridge, gets a big edge and the chance is dropped at second slip.

The England man would love to see Kent home in this innings, but he should have been gone.

  6. Postpublished at 15:24 BST 26 September

    Kent 4-0 - target 118

Hampshire pair James Sales and Andrew Neal's 50-partnership has given their side a much-needed afternoon boost.

  8. Postpublished at 15:23 BST 26 September

    Lancs 150-4 v Durham 493

Duanne Olivier is very much bowling 'within himself' at Old Trafford.

A couple of leg byes takes Lancashire's total up to 150.

They are still scoring at around two runs an over.

Assuming Sussex win today, the one-wicket win by Warwicks over Sussex made all the difference and if the result had gone the other way, Sussex would have won the Championship...

150 up for Essexpublished at 15:19 BST 26 September

    Glamorgan 505 v Essex 129 & 151-1

Essex skipper Tom Westley glances one to the square-leg boundary for four runs.

Up comes the Essex 150 - good effort this.

  11. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 15:13 BST 26 September

    Somerset 480-5 v Surrey 422

    Somerset's session again - 127 runs added.

Tom Lammonby (229) and Tom Abell (166*) took their fourth-wicket partnership to a record 334 which is Somerset's best against any side in first class cricket.

Lammonby eventually fell to Dan Worrall for his highest first class score before James Rew went for just a single.

But Abell remains there with a career best score and Archie Vaughan has got himself to 23 not out.

Somerset will try to just bat once in this game.

  12. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 15:12 BST 26 September

    Notts v Yorks 108-4 - target 158

Mohammad Ali tucks up Jonny Bairstow with a ripper but the Yorkshire skipper survives.

He's then caught betwixt and between as he fences at a tempter outside off stump. A testing maiden.

Liam Patterson-White into a 13th over and offers a little width allowing Matthew Revis to cut for a single. The runs required tick down to 50.

    And that's tea.

Can't help feeling admiration for Warks! Difficult start but the stuck with it and got the result that eventual consistency deserved. Somerset just can't seem to get over the line, is it in their DNA or something?

Proud to see Warwickshire as CC Champions again. Nice combination of Captaincy leading from the front, playing as a team but whatever happens on the pitch its the work off it with the coaches that has got them there. Need to strengthen the batting, cant always be on the bowlers.

  15. Bears fans on the pitch celebrating with playerspublished at 15:03 BST 26 September

    Warks 372 v Leics 125 & 168 – Warks win by an innings & 79 runs

There's no sign of the crowd leaving Edgbaston any time soon.

There are lots of supporters on the pitch eager to soak up the title win and take photos with the players.

Ethan Bamber is down there being interviewed and other players have been joined by their families.

Lovely scenes as Olly Hannon-Dalby is throwing his child (I presume it's his) into the air - and at his height there might be a risk of vertigo!

  16. Gloucestershire all outpublished at 15:03 BST 26 September

    Kent 353 v Gloucestershire 229 & 241

Kent have already been promoted, thanks to Northamptonshire's defeat at Lord's, and now they need to score 118 to win this match.

Two in successive overs as Matt Taylor is caught by Daniel Bell-Drummond at mid-on off Ekansh Singh to bring Gloucestershire's second innings to an end.

Matt Milnes was the pick of the Kent attack with 5-33 - his fourth five-four of the 2026 season.

Tea may be taken before the home side begin their gentle chase.

Come on Kent. Please don't let us finish bottom.

    Somerset 463-5 v Surrey 422

Tom Abell takes a single off Ralphie Albert and goes to a career best 157 not out.

Somerset are building something here which could well challenge the Surrey batters in their second innings.

  18. 100 runs

100 up for Yorkshirepublished at 15:02 BST 26 September

    Notts v Yorks 103-4 - target 158

After their opening 54-run stand looked to have taken the sting out of a modest chase, Yorkshire have stuttered a little, losing four wickets for 43.

A good stop at third slip from Lyndon James prevents four as Mohammad Ali draws a thick outside edge from Jonny Bairstow.

The former England wicketkeeper then guides Ali down to third man for a single which brings up three figures for the visitors.

A neat clip through the legside from Matthew Revis brings three more. Notts can't afford freebies like that.

    Dhariwal c Northeast b Muyeye 66 (Kent 353 v Glos 229 & 241-8)

He's already taken four catches and now Tawanda Muyeye has a wicket as well.

Kamran Dhariwal comes down the track and clips the ball to mid-wicket where Sam Northeast eventually holds onto a stinging catch.

Good innings by Dhariwal, which equalled his first-class career-best, and he put on 63 with Matt Taylor.

An absolute outstanding success from this side which I don’t think anyone six weeks ago viewed as a potential County Championship-winning side except those inside the dressing room here at Edgbaston. If you look at all the statistics, they deserve what they have achieved.
