I think I have gave Dushmantha Chameera a disservice saying he is not going to last much longer. If Chameera can hang around like this, you never know how close Sri Lanka can get.

  2. SL 175-7published at 36 overs

Nice drive from the number nine.

Dushmantha Chameera steps into Gus Atkinson's delivery and finds three in the covers, with Harry Brook stopping a fourth.

Dunith Wellalage then finishes the over with a big top edge that goes for four behind the keeper.

Dunith Wellalage looks a hell of a player. Technically, he has a lot of time.

    99 needed off 88 balls

Will Jacks returns to replace Rehan Ahmed after the latter's expensive over last time out at this end.

Four singles off his sixth over - Sri Lanka need 6.60 runs an over from here.

You always need help from your partner at number nine and you need to shield him on a tricky pitch against a good bowling attack.

Dushmantha Chameera is an experienced player, so he has got to do his bit here.

  6. SL 163-7published at 34 overs

Gus Atkinson returns and Dunith Wellalage takes a single to third off his first ball.

Dushmantha Chameera faces four dot balls and then takes the rather curious decision to run a single from the final ball of the over, retaining the strike.

Still, he's off the mark from his 10th ball.

Dunith Wellalage has decided he is going to have some fun, but Sri Lanka are a long way behind.

  8. SL 161-7published at 33 overs

Dunith Wellalage adds three more through backward point, with Joe Root cutting off the boundary.

17 off the over, all to the one batter.

Dunith Wellalage isn't paying too much attention to the percentages.

That was short and Dunith Wellalage had to wait for it.

Rehan Ahmed is bowling wrong'uns and Wellalage is only looking to go one way.

Runs have been flowing and Ahmed wants this over to finish quick.

    Four, four, six!

Dunith Wellalage piles into Rehan Ahmed - slog-sweeping through mid-wicket then swivelling to send the ball to the ropes at backward square.

He crowns those two deliveries with a huge aerial shot into the crowd wide of long-on.

England have completely turned this game around and are now firmly in control. One or two more wickets could wrap this up very quickly.

Jofra Archer is quite expensive when you look at him compared to the other bowlers.

  14. SL 144-7published at 32 overs

Dunith Wellalage follows up his six with a four through extra cover.

A challenging couple of balls for Jofra Archer.

Dunith Wellalage gave himself room and I thought it was going straight to Ben Duckett.

    Just inches over Duckett's hands.

    SL 139-7published at 31.2 overs

    First six of the day!

Dunith Wellalage makes room and slams Jofra Archer out to the cover boundary.

Ben Duckett back pedals towards the rope but the diminutive opener is perhaps not the man you want for this scenario - the ball clears him and lands plumb on the boundary sponge.

  17. SL 133-7published at 31 overs

Dushmantha Chameera faces the final three balls of Rehan Ahmed's over without scoring.

Dunith Wellalage started that over with a sliced four between backward point and third.

I think that is missing leg. Looking at how much it turns. It hits Sachindu Colombage in line.

    Another one trapped lbw.

Sachindu Colombage lands one on the pads from Rehan Ahmed.

Some possibility that was sliding down, but Sri Lanka are out of reviews so they can't check.

  20. SL 128-6published at 30 overs

Singles book-end Jofra Archer's fifth over.

Amongst the four dot balls in the middle, Archer raps Dunith Wellalage's bat handle.
