I love the passion from Razaullah. Another England batsman trudges off thinking what could've been.

Jamie Smith has chipped a chance back and the youngster has got him. Razaullah does make things happen.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 77.4 overs

    Smith c & b Razaullah 69 (Eng 372-8)

Leading edge and a roar in celebration from a pumped up Razaullah Khan!

Jamie Smith had looked he did not know whether to stick or twist in recent overs and perishes after the ball spoons back to Razaullah.

The Pakistan quick gives Smith a bit of send off as well.

  8. Eng 387-7published at 77 overs

Later in the over Jamie Smith decides to biff Saim Ayub which stirs Mohammad Ali into life at deep mid-wicket but the ball thuds into the turf well short of him.

  9. Smith survivespublished at 76.3 overs

Jamie Smith's expression did suggest he might have hit it, but UltraEdge shows a flat line so he survives.

Jamie Smith looks a bit nervous and guilty.

  11. Pakistan reviewpublished at 76.3 overs

Jamie Smith will have an eye on a hundred here, so not quite sure he will be thrilled by Ollie Robinson deciding to pull out a reverse sweep to Saim Ayub.

A couple of balls later and Ayub pushes one down leg side and wicketkeeper Ghazi Ghori appeals.

Was there some bat on that?

    Pakistan decide to review.

  12. Eng 363-7published at 76 overs

A risky single from Ollie Robinson who decides to tap and run.

Jamie Smith is backing up but might have been struggling if Shan Masood's shy at the stumps had hit.

Smith has moved on to 63 not out. Robinson is unbeaten on 20.

Pakistan, hoping to induce a miscued slog from Ollie Robinson perhaps, revert to Saim Ayub's off spin with the field spread.

Robinson does not take the bait, though. He's content to farm the strike with Jamie Smith.

  15. Eng 357-7published at 74 overs

A smattering of cranes line the city horizon beyond the City End at Edgbaston.

The ground itself here is undergoing a redevelopment with a hotel and stand which should be ready for next year's Ashes Test being constructed where the Raglan and Priory stands used to be.

Mohammad Imran with five dots before Ollie Robinson jabs it through the vacant third region for four.

That first four was really nicely timed by Ollie Robinson. That's off a Muhammad Abbas length and a good ball from him.

  17. Eng 353-7published at 73 overs

    Lead by 220 runs

Ollie Robinson fancies entertaining the Edgbaston crowd as he peels off conseuctive fours of Muhammad Abbas.

The first is a stylish chip down the ground over mid-on. The second slightly more fortuitous via an inside edge.

In any sport when your egos are hurt and you know you're not going to win a contest then that's the worst feeling possible.

There needs to be some balance or fight. For Pakistan there has been no spirit or comeback here.

  19. Eng 344-7published at 72 overs

Excellent chance for the players to mention the "batting unit" in that instance, Dave.

It's probably more demoralising if you know any one of those players with a half-century in the first innings could get a hundred in the second innings, I guess.

Ollie Robinson off the mark with a wristy whip through mid-wicket off Mohammad Imran.

From a bowling team's point of view is seeing batter after batter hit 50+ more or less demoralising than someone getting a big ton even if the final score is the same? Just wondering.
