The tea interval will be a very welcome respite for Gloucestershire's bowlers, who have been toiling without reward since the first hour of the game.

They've been unable to break this stand between Saif Zaib, who's hit his first century of the season and Nathan McSweeney, who is just four runs short of following him to three figures.

First four of the Sussex reply and it's a very streaky one as Tom Haines tries to drive Tom Norton and gets a big inside edge, which just misses the stumps and runs away to the boundary.

It's been a battling effort from Middlesex who lost two wickets in the middle session.

Ben Allison claimed both but by the interval the away side were looking on top again. Leus du Plooy and Caleb Falconer have both had scares but have batted positively in adding 58 for the fourth wicket so far.

Will Luxton gets a standing ovation from the crowd at North Marine Road as the players head for tea. The Keighley born player completed his maiden first class century with a six just before the interval.

Warwickshire's bowlers looked a little more potent after lunch and claimed two wickets in the session but they haven't helped themselves with a number of misfields.

Yorkshire remain on top and will be looking for a big total to put scoreboard pressure on the Bears.

A productive session for Durham, who added 107 to their 75-2 at lunch, but it came at a cost - the loss of Will Rhodes and David Bedingham.

Both were caught behind, Rhodes off Ben Aitchison - who now have 30 Championship wickets this season - and Bedingham falling to Martin Andersson one short of 50.

Graham Clark is 28 not out and Ollie Robinson has 15, while Derbyshire have used six different bowlers so far.

Gloucestershire would desperately like to break this lengthy partnership before tea and Graeme van Buuren thought for a split second he'd done it.

The left-arm spinner tempts Saif Zaib into an edge that flies through Cameron Bancroft at slip and the visitors' frustration continues.

Zaib and Nathan McSweeney continue to grind the bowlers down, with their partnership now reaching 230.

BBC Sussex's Adrian Harms informs listeners that there will be 44 more overs to be bowled in the final session, providing bad light does not intervene.

Daniel Hughes and skipper Tom Haines are the Sussex openers. Timm van der Gugten will open the bowling.

Yorkshire 233-3 v Warwickshire

What a moment for Will Luxton and what audacity. Having looked fidgety in his 90s he went from 95 to his maiden first class century by pulling India test bowler Suthar over mid wicket for six.

Luxton's hundred came in 183 balls and included 12 fours and that six. Whether he's able to claim the ball as a souvenir at the end of the game may be in doubt. It was last seen bouncing out of the ground.

Superb first few overs for Leicestershire, with Ben Green removing both Essex openers cheaply - but it's all gone the visitors' way since then.

Jordan Cox has bludgeoned exactly 100, with Tom Westley unbeaten on 41 and the pair have put Essex in a very solid position after being asked to bat.

Somerset have fought back very well with the bat in this second session.

After finding themselves 47-3, Jordan Hermann and Thomas Rew have both reached 50 - the latter with his maiden half-century in first-class cricket at the age of 18.

Hermann is 64* and Rew 68* for his highest score in this format too.

Their partnership stands at 120 and now this game is very much in the balance going into the evening session with Nottinghamshire finding themselves with work to do with the ball.

Thomas Rew takes a thick outside edge off the last ball before tea from Freddie McCann and it runs away for four.

What an innings by Jordan Cox - and what a way to bring up his hundred!

Cox runs down the track to England team-mate Rehan Ahmed and launches him brutally over the top for an enormous six which takes him to 100 from 73 balls.

Exactly what Essex - and the England set-up - will have wanted to see from Cox on his return to red-ball cricket.

Freddie McCann comes into the attack to bowl a bit of off-spin for Notts.

Jordan Hermann chops away for a single for the 100th run of the session for Somerset.

A 42-over session comes to an end and Kent will be very pleased with how they've recovered after a fine start with the ball by Lancashire.

Jimmy Anderson removed Harry Finch early on before Sam Northeast was bowled by George Balderson to leave the visitors 24-2.

But opening bat Ben Dawkins has hit a 50 and Daniel Bell-Drummond is unbeaten on 33 and this pair have steadied the ship.

Finely poised.

Kent continue to keep the scoreboard moving along as Ben Dawkins tickles one fine on the legside for four from Liam Livingstone.

Leicestershire keep leaking runs - at the moment there's little they can do to contain Jordan Cox.

Two more boundaries from this Ben Green over take Cox on to 86 and the scoring rate is particularly impressive when you remember he came to the wicket at 8-2 in the eighth over.

Essex have scored at around six an over since then.

Lancashire v Kent 106-2

Ben Dawkins has batted well for Kent and did well to stick around when his opening partner Harry Finch and then Sam Northeast fell early on.

Dawkins dabbles away at a wide one outside off from Liam Livingstone to move onto 50.

Jordan Hermann pulls out the reverse sweep to Liam Patterson-White's spin... but doesn't make any contact.

It still runs past the gloves of Notts wicketkeeper Joe Clarke and Somerset pick up a couple of byes.

Both Hermann and Thomas Rew are 62*. Symmetry.

That was almost as good as Henry Crocombe's caught and bowled earlier in the innings.

Ryan Hadley chips one back to Jayden Unadkat and the Indian left-armer dives to his left to take it in both hands just millimetres above the turf.

Unadkat marks his first game of the season for Sussex with figures of 4-29 as Glamorgan are all out in the 52nd over.

Tea will be taken before Sussex commence their reply.
