  1. Tea at Taunton

    Somerset v Surrey 183-4

Dan Lawrence hits Migael Pretorius for four but then is fortunate as he drives at the next ball which beats the edge on the way into the gloves of James Rew standing up to the stumps.

That was a very close call in the final over before the tea interval.

It remains fairly evenly poised although Somerset may be slightly the happier having taken four wickets including Dom Sibley for 72 and Ollie Pope for 24 while keeping Surrey under 200 in the afternoon session.

  2. Warks 22-1 v Leics 125

Dan Mousley has hit four boundaries in a quickfire 19 off 20 balls to help Warwickshire recover from the loss of Rob Yates early in their reply to Leicestershire's 125.

Seven overs left until tea at Edgbaston.

  3. Worcestershire all out

    Worcs 214 v Derbys

Worcestershire's first innings comes to an end at New Road as Fateh Singh top edges a pull shot off Martin Andersson and Amit Basra takes a good catch in the deep.

Tom Taylor is left on 39 not out and the Pears are going to need something special from him with the ball now.

Muhammad Abbas claims 5-63 from 17 overs for Derbyshire, with Luis Reece taking 3-34 in the chief supporting role.

They will take tea before the visitors begin their reply.

  4. wicket

    WICKET

    Simmons b Ahmed 4 (Kent v Glos 171-8)

Another short one from Khaled Ahmed and Che Simmons wallops it to mid-wicket for four. Nice way to open your account.

The next ball, though, goes straight through Simmons' defences and that is 3-11 in this spell for the Bangladesh paceman.

  5. Nottinghamshire 160-3 v Yorkshire

Dom Bess is into the attack for Yorkshire but he is too short in his first over and Haseeb Hameed punishes him in the off side for four.

    Hameed moves into the sixties.

14 wickets have fallen at Lord's in about half a day's play. This seems to be typical there this year. The ECB needs to drop Lord's from the test match roster until something is done about the pitch.

  7. 150 runs

    150 up for Notts

    Nottinghamshire 150-3 v Yorkshire

Jack Haynes picks up a single off the bowling of Matthew Revis and that brings up the 150 for the home side.

  8. Warks 12-1 v Leics 125

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

If you're Warwickshire, you take the 10 wickets and feel in good shape, but then you lose an early wicket and it does weigh a little bit heavily on the shoulders.

It's a great opportunity. Winning a Championship is not an opportunity that comes around often.

You've got to make the most of it when you get the chance.

  9. 200 runs

    200 up for Glamorgan

    Glamorgan 202-1 Essex

    Luke Hemmings
    BBC Sport Wales

Kiran Carlson is well in his groove here at Sophia Gardens. The Glamorgan skipper hits consecutive boundaries to move to 78.

Tribe then takes the Welsh side past 200 runs as he makes it 81 runs from 172 balls.

  10. 50 partnership

    Hampshire v Sussex 176-7

Jack Carson and Jack Leaning have steadied things somewhat for Sussex since coming together at 124-7 against Hampshire.

They've put on 52 and counting for the eighth wicket.

  11. Middx 47-4 v Northants 103

Terrific shot through extra-cover from Ben Geddes races away to the boundary.

Middlesex are attempting to put some pressure back on to the bowlers here.

  12. 50 runs

    for James Bracey

    Kent v Glos 160-7

    James BraceyGetty Images

Khaled Ahmed dismissed Sai Kishore with a bouncer, but it doesn't work against James Bracey, who pulls fiercely for four and reaches 50 off 68 balls.

This is his ninth 50+ score of the season - five of the others were converted into centuries.

  13. 'Extraordinary dismissal'

    Somerset v Surrey 175-4

Extraordinary dismissal. It almost looked as if he had forgotten leg slip was there.

  14. 'It’s a strange old game, cricket'

    Somerset v Surrey 175-4

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

It’s a strange old game, cricket. It’s been a really good innings from Sibley and you can see he’s disappointed with that as he marches back towards the pavilion. Would you believe it? Fair play to Somerset, they’ve come up with a plan there that’s worked.

  15. Nottinghamshire 148-3 v Yorkshire

A beautiful delivery from Matthew Revis.

The first ball of his fifth over swings away from Haseeb Hameed (58*), missing the outside of his bat seemingly by inches.

  16. Leicestershire's Division One status hangs by thinnest of threads

    Warks 8-1 v Leics 125

    BBC Radio Leicester commentator

    Ben Cox stands disappointedShutterstock

Leicestershire have, like most teams in the past month, struggled with the bat against Warwickshire.

There's nothing utterly magical about this Warwickshire attack - but goodness are they disciplined, relentless and accurate.

    It's a potent force.

Ethan Bamber, Chris Woakes, Olly Hannon-Dalby and Ed Barnard got Leicestershire poking, prodding and miscueing throughout their innings. There's essentially no escape.

The visitors can now only get 19 points from this game - they need 19 points more than Essex to stay up. So they have to win, with three bowling bonus points, and hope Essex lose with no bonus points.

The Foxes are also appealing their points deduction and will bear in mind that they would be eight points clear of Essex had they not lost 27 last week.

Perhaps that will be their thinking now - they need snookers from here on in.

  17. Division Two updates

Ben Walkden overpitches and Emilio Gay on-drives for four as Durham pass 200, for the loss of two wickets, in the 51st over against Lancashire at Old Trafford.

Worcestershire have also reached 200 against Derbyshire at New Road - the difference is they have lost nine wickets. Tom Taylor is 37 not out.

  18. wicket

    WICKET

    Sibley c Abell b Pretorius 72 (Somerset v Surrey 174-4)

    No century for Dom Sibley...

The Surrey batter turns it straight to the leg slip Tom Abell - it was like he was picking him out - he didn't have to move.

A disappointing end for the opener who had batted superbly in his usual style before that loose shot.

  19. wicket

    WICKET

    Falconer lbw b Sanderson 0 (Middx 32-4 v Northants 103)

A brilliant couple of deliveries from Ben Sanderson once more.

He shapes one away at the last moment which misses the outside edge of Caleb Falconer's bat.

Then, with the following delivery, Sanderson traps Falconer lbw for a duck.

This one looked a little leg side in truth but Falconer does not wait around for long. He goes without troubling the scorers.

Ryan Higgins walks out with Middlesex 32-4. They trail by 71.

Sanderson has 4-19. An extraordinary first day at Lord's.

  20. 100 runs

100 partnership for Tribe & Carlson

    Glamorgan 181-1 Essex

Asa Tribe (72*) and Kiran Carlson (65*) continue their partnership at the crease for Glamorgan and it's now worth more than 100 runs.

Glamorgan going along very nicely indeed in Cardiff.
