    Kent v Gloucestershire 205-8

Kent are just one wicket away from maximum bowling bonus points after a productive afternoon session at the St Lawrence Ground.

Second-placed Kent picked up six wickets and could have finished off the Gloucestershire first innings but for James Bracey's excellent unbeaten 74.

Bangladesh paceman Khaled Ahmed picked up three of the wickets to fall and has 3-39 from 11 overs so far.

Kent's cause has also been helped by Northants, in third, failing to manage any batting points against Middlesex at Lord's.

It's been an excellent counter punch from Ben Geddes who has helped steer Middlesex clear of troubled waters in the past half-hour.

A number of attacking shots through the off side has helped him claim a half-century off just 70 balls with eight fours.

The home side trail Northamptonshire by just three runs now. Geddes is enjoying himself out in the middle alongside Ryan Higgins at the moment.

Jack Leaning reaches a half-century with a massive six over the leg side off Kyle Abbott.

Three fours and two sixes for Leaning, who has played his part in helping Sussex towards a respectable first-innings total after a poor start.

  5. 50 runs

for Mayank Agarwalpublished at 15:40 BST 24 September

    Lancs v Durham 247-2

He's done a great job for Durham since arriving as replacement for David Bedingham, albeit in a team that had already done enough to secure promotion and win the Division two title.

Mayank Agarwal follows his 177 against Worcestershire by reaching 50 off 101 balls, with a single off Tom Bailey.

That will be tea following a session in which the visitors have added 135 for the loss of Ben McKinney, who fell for 71.

Agarwal has put on 123 with Emilo Gay, who is 112 not out - a high-class knock.

The second session comes to a close at Trent Bridge and Yorkshire will go into the tea break buoyant after getting the wicket of Nottinghamshire captain Haseeb Hameed through Matthew Revis' excellent delivery.

Please don't tell me that Warks are going to blow the opportunity of a big lead by being skittled themselves!!

    Peter, London

Anyone in Warwickshire worried about losing 27 points for the state of the pitch? Asking for a friend from Somerset.

    Jeff, Herts

Let's hope the lid of that particular can of worms remains firmly on and the title is won out in the middle, not at a pitch investigation hearing...

  9. 'Lovely shots' from Gaypublished at 15:28 BST 24 September

    Lancs v Durham 232-2

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Mayank Agarwal and Emilio Gay have put on 100 in 166 balls for Durham, who are now 232-2 v Lancashire.

Gay has also reached 100 in 156 balls, with his 14th four. He's played some lovely shots on his return from England duty.

It's his fourth century of the season for the club and his eighth in all for them. He also has 14 in his career.

  10. Postpublished at 15:28 BST 24 September

    Kent v Glos 187-8

    Ouch!

Gloucestershire sprint through for a quick single on a rebound after Matt Taylor edges short of the slips and the throw from point hits James Bracey on the leg.

A bruise to come, maybe, but he's ok to carry on.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:28 BST 24 September

    Hameed c Bairstow b Revis 71 (Notts 172-4 v Yorkshire)

Big, big wicket just before tea for Yorkshire...

It's a brilliant delivery from Matthew Revis and Haseeb Hameed has to play at this otherwise his off pole is getting bulldozed.

An excellent effort from the opener comes to an end. All four wickets that have happened today at Trent Bridge have come from the Stuart Broad end.

Revis has bowled well and deserves his wicket. Hameed faced 187 deliveries.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:26 BST 24 September

    Karvelas lbw b Fuller 1 (Hampshire v Sussex 201-9)

Ari Karvelas falls lbw in what should have been the final over before tea, with James Fuller claiming his third wicket - but play will continue with Sussex nine wickets down.

Sussex could easily have been dismissed for under 150 when a quick Hampshire burst of wickets left them 124-7.

But Jack Leaning and Jack Carson performed a rescue act of sorts against their already-relegated opponents, putting on 75 for the eighth wicket.

Carson was dismissed for 46 a short time ago but Leaning is 36 not out.

  13. 150 partnership for Glamorganpublished at 15:25 BST 24 September

    Glamorgan 230-1 Essex

    Luke Hemmings
    BBC Sport Wales

Kiran Carlson moves onto 97 not out with a boundary as wayward fielding from Essex is being punished here. Tribe is on 88 runs as the pair excel for Glamorgan. A fruitless Essex side's only content will come from Leicestershire's batting display yielding no bonus points moving them ever closer to safety.

  14. Tea at Sophia Gardenspublished at 15:24 BST 24 September

    Glamorgan 230-1 Essex

Kiran Carlson looked to be in a hurry to reach a century by tea with consecutive fours taking him to 97 but a dot ball from the final delivery of the over means he will have to come back to finish the job after the interval.

The Glamorgan skipper and Asa Tribe (88*) have made serene progress, batting throughout the afternoon session with Essex still only being able to take one wicket all day so far.

  15. Postpublished at 15:22 BST 24 September

    Notts 163-3 v Yorkshire

Almost a bit of drama at Trent Bridge.

Haseeb Hameed looks to dab down to third man but good fielding from George Hill at first slip prevents him.

Hameed is then momentarily out of his ground but gets back in time before Jonny Bairstow has the opportunity to take his bails off.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:21 BST 24 September

    Mousley c Gumbs b Holland 19 (Warks 22-2 v Leics 125)

Dan Mousley's innings ends on 19, thanks to a very sharp catch at slip by Sheridon Gumbs.

There had been a stoppage in play just beforehand, while Mousley had his bat attended to.

A second wicket for Leicestershire captain Ian Holland.

  17. 100 runs

for Emilio Gaypublished at 15:19 BST 24 September

    Lancs v Durham 229-2

    Emilio GayImage source, Getty Images

He hasn't managed a century yet for England - but there is Emilio Gay's fourth of the season in the County Championship.

A bit of a gift really as a full toss by Noman Ali enables him to whip it to the mid-wicket boundary.

It has taken the Durham batter 156 balls and has featured 14 fours.

  18. Somerset bowlers doing well on 'benign pitch'published at 15:19 BST 24 September

    Somerset v Surrey 183-4

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Somerset have done well to have taken four prime wickets. They have removed four of this very strong Surrey top six on a pretty benign pitch. There has been a little bit of help for the spinners from time to time but not much in it for the seam bowlers.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:18 BST 24 September

    Carson b Fuller 46 (Hampshire v Sussex 199-8)

Full and straight and a bit of inswing by James Fuller gets rid of Jack Carson, who falls four runs short of a half-century.

That eighth-wicket stand ends on 75.

  20. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 15:17 BST 24 September

    Middx 60-4 v Northants 103

Dropped catch! What an opportunity this is.

Harry Conway is wicket-less so far but he'll wonder how now.

Ryan Higgins attempts to punch down the ground but doesn't time it and the ball comes back to Conway who gets two hands to it but drops at the vital moment.

As caught and bowled chances go, that was a pretty good one. Two balls later, Ben Geddes (32*) crunches a hook shot for four.

Middlesex trail by just 43 now.
