    Hampshire v Sussex 124-7

Two quick Sussex wickets at Utilita Bowl...

Eddie Jack traps John Simpson lbw from around the wicket for his second scalp of the day, then Felix Organ accounts for Tom Price - also lbw.

  2. 'Much-needed wicket'published at 14:04 BST 24 September

    Somerset v Surrey 131-3

    Melinda Farrell

He’s got him! With the keeper up to the stumps Gregory pins Pope who departs lbw and that was a much-needed wicket because this Surrey partnership had started to look bedded in for the afternoon.

  3. Postpublished at 14:04 BST 24 September

    Kent v Glos 123-3

Kent are proving slow to learn that you can't give James Bracey room outside off stump.

He carves Keith Dudgeon over cover for four and Matt Milnes' second delivery in the next over is cut away for another boundary.

Pope lbw Gregory 24 (Somerset v Surrey 131-3)

Big wicket for Somerset who really needed to break this partnership!

Ollie Pope is pinned lbw by Lewis Gregory playing across his own stumps - the England batter will be really annoyed with himself as he departs for just 24 after playing some lovely shots.

He and Dom Sibley added 50 together and looked well set but Gregory makes an important breakthrough at a crucial time.

WICKET AND NORTHANTS ALL OUT FOR 103published at 14:02 BST 24 September

    Sales b Ferns 43 (Middx v Northants 103)

And that, rather comprehensively, is that.

An excellent off stump yorker does for James Sales who attempts to send the ball towards the Lord's members. You could see that coming from a mile off.

Northamptonshire, after winning the toss, have been skittled by Middlesex for 103.

Fantastic news for Middlesex and Kent fans with Northants starting the day just four points outside the automatic top two spots.

This could prove to be a very damaging day to their hopes of promotion to Division One. They will need something rather special from Ben Sanderson and co to get them back into this one.

  6. Postpublished at 14:00 BST 24 September

    Middx v Northants 103-9

Last man in for Northamptonshire Yuzi Chahal does well to dig out six deliveries from Ryan Higgins who is hunting a five-fer.

James Sales then attempts to swipe Danru Ferns out of the ground and into St John's Wood but cannot connect cleanly and the ball lands safely in between three fielders as Sales refuses the single.

  7. wicket

    Cox c Yates b Woakes 33 (Warks v Leics 99-8)

    Ben Cox is gone!

Leicestershire's final recognised batter edges to Rob Yates at slip, giving Chris Woakes a third wicket.

Yates has been a catching machine this year - he leads the way for catches by a non-wicketkeeper in Division One - and that was another very safe grab.

This Warwickshire bowling attack has really clicked in the second half of the season and is by far the best in the Championship. Let's hope we can finish the job.

    Warks v Leics 97-7

Hampshire's Kyle Abbott and Warwickshire's Ethan Bamber have been among the wickets again today, as they battle to end the season as the leading wicket-taker in Division One.

Bamber's tally is now 63, one fewer than Abbott.

    Nottinghamshire 89-3 v Yorkshire

A terrific cut shot from Haseeb Hameed (36*) races away to the boundary for four.

  10. Postpublished at 13:55 BST 24 September

    Kent v Glos 111-3

Poor ball from Matt Milnes at the start of a new over and James Bracey has plenty of time to pick his spot before cutting it away for four.

    Somerset v Surrey 130-2

The Surrey opener beautifully times a drive through the covers which scoots across the Taunton turf to reach the boundary.

He then has to wait a little while stuck on 49 before grabbing a couple to pass his half-century.

That releases any pressure Sibley may have been feeling on 49 as he smashes a couple of fours away and that means he and Ollie Pope have added 50 together.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:54 BST 24 September

    Green c Hain b Bamber 3 (Warks v Leics 97-7)

Ethan Bamber has three wickets in the innings now and Warwickshire are taking a huge stride towards the title with this bowling performance.

Ben Green is the latest Leicestershire man to fall, edging to Sam Hain at first slip.

Hain grasped the catch at the second attempt.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Tribepublished at 13:51 BST 24 September

    Glamorgan 113-1 Essex

    Luke Hemmings
    BBC Sport Wales

Asa Tribe gets a single in the 38th over from Simon Harmer's bowl to reach 50 runs.

Applause ripples around Sophia Gardens for this assured batsman, who having avoided an early scare has looked composed to bring up the half-century.

This is his fifth 50 of the season and he has now scored more than 800 runs this campaign.

  14. Division Two updatepublished at 13:50 BST 24 September

Aggressive start by Mayank Agarwal at Old Trafford. The Indian has already hit a six and four off Mitch Stanley for Durham, who are 154-2 in the 34th over against Lancashire, with partner Emilio Gay now 62 not out.

Muhammad Abbas has collected his fourth wicket for Derbyshire against Worcestershire, having Henry Cullen lbw for 15. The Pears are 140-7 in the 38th over.

  15. 100 up for Northantspublished at 13:49 BST 24 September

    Middx v Northants 103-9

With only one wicket in hand, James Sales is going to take the strike on and he swipes through extra cover for four to put three figures on the board for Northamptonshire.

    Sales moves to 43*.

  16. Postpublished at 13:49 BST 24 September

    Warks v Leics 94-6

Ben Cox throws his head back, knowing he's played a loose shot and got away with it.

He went after a Chris Woakes ball outside off stump and will be relieved the ball didn't brush the edge of his bat.

Cox is unbeaten on 31 now and pivotal to Leicestershire's hopes of a decent total.

  17. Postpublished at 13:48 BST 24 September

    Somerset v Surrey 120-2

Somerset's bowlers have been restricting Surrey's runs in recent overs but Ollie Pope releases some of the building pressure with a nicely executed reverse sweep that runs way for four.

Dom Sibley has been stuck on 49 for a long while now.

  18. Postpublished at 13:47 BST 24 September

    Nottinghamshire 80-3 v Yorkshire

Hasseb Hameed does superbly to dig out an excellently directed yorker by Yorkie Ben Cliff and, at the same time, manages to run the ball down to the third man boundary for four.

Nottinghamshire's first runs in 18 balls.

for Ollie Pricepublished at 13:45 BST 24 September

    Kent v Glos 103-3

Ollie Price tucks Keith Dudgeon away for a couple and reaches 50 off 188 balls. It's been a determined, valuable knock for his side on a pitch which is providing occasional help for the seamers.

  20. 100 up for Glamorganpublished at 13:43 BST 24 September

    Glamorgan 106-1 Essex

    Luke Hemmings
    BBC Sport Wales

Glamorgan surpass 100 with Asa Tribe managing a couple of runs as the match resumes in very similar vein to before the break.

The hosts happy to play defensive and then find the boundary every so often. Kiran Carlson - who is liking the inside edge of his bat - hits his first boundary as Tribe nears 50 runs.
