  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:40 BST 24 September

    Conway lbw b Ferns 5 (Middx v Northants 94-9)

Danru Ferns gets his third and Northamptonshire's innings is almost over already just 30 minutes after lunch.

Harry Conway looks a little bit unhappy with this one. Was it height? Did he get an inside edge?

The umpire didn't think so. Yuzi Chahal is last man in for Northamptonshire but this has been a bad day for the promotion-chasers.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:37 BST 24 September

    Hammond c Muyeye b Quinn 14 (Kent v Glos 97-3)

First bowling bonus point for Kent as Miles Hammond tries to play the ball to leg and it flies off the leading edge to third slip where Tawanda Muyeye takes the catch.

A deserved wicket for Matt Quinn, who has been arguably the pick of the Kent seamers thus far.

James Bracey, with over 1,000 runs behind him this season, comes out to bat at five.

Come on Kent, big session here..

    Andrew, Cumbria

  3. Latest from New Roadpublished at 13:33 BST 24 September

Four wickets in six overs Derbyshire following the lunch interval at New Road.

Matthew Waite is the latest to go, caught off Luis Reece by Nick Potts.

The Pears are 127-6 as Tom Taylor comes out to join Henry Cullen.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:32 BST 24 September

    Sanderson b Higgins 2 (Middx v Northants 89-8)

An excellent delivery and Ryan Higgins has his fourth! Northamptonshire all over the place now.

Ben Sanderson has no answer here. Straight through his defences as the ball hits the top of middle stump.

The visitors are still 161 runs away from their first batting point with just two wickets in hand. It is looking increasingly unlikely.

  5. No hat-trickpublished at 13:31 BST 24 September

    Nottinghamshire 68-3 v Yorkshire

Two wickets in the over for Ben Cliff has changed the complexion of this match.

The hat-trick eludes him, meaning Matthew Hoggard remains the last Yorkshire player to take a hat-trick back in 2009.

Cliff rightly gets a round of applause for his efforts though.

  6. 50 runs

for Emilio Gaypublished at 13:30 BST 24 September

    Lancs v Durham 129-2

He's looked good since the start of his innings.

England's opener - batting at three for Durham - goes to 50 with one of his favourite cover drives for four, off Tom Bailey.

It has taken him 69 balls faced.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:30 BST 24 September

    Holland c Young b Bamber 10 (Warks v Leics 83-6)

Another bonus point to add to Warwickshire's tally.

Ethan Bamber takes his second wicket as Ian Holland edges to Will Young at slip.

I think he'd better leave right now.

    I'll get my coat.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:29 BST 24 September

    McKinney c Hurst b Bailey 71 (Lancs v Durham 124-2)

Lancashire will be very pleased with that.

They break the partnership between Ben McKinney and Emilio Gay early in the afternoon session as the former is caught behind off Tom Bailey.

McKinney hit 12 fours in his 97-ball knock, adding 114 with Gay.

  9. 100 runs

100 up for Surreypublished at 13:28 BST 24 September

    Somerset v Surrey 105-2

A lovely clip down the leg side from Dom Sibley who uses Overton's pace to just redirect the ball off his pads down to the fine leg boundary.

It races away to the rope with no fielder in sight.

  10. Postpublished at 13:28 BST 24 September

    Kent v Glos 89-2

Sunshine and shadows at the St Lawrence Ground - on 24 September.

Good over from Ekansh Singh - apart from a no-ball.

No runs added off the bat. Ollie Price is 43 not out and Miles Hammond has 14.

    Tear c Brown b Abbott 43 (Hampshire v Sussex 103-5)

Hampshire celebrate a wicketImage source, Shutterstock

Seven runs short of a half-century, Charlie Tear edges behind to Hampshire wicketkeeper Ben Brown and veteran seamer Kyle Abbott has his second wicket of the innings.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:24 BST 24 September

    Clarke c Lyth b Cliff 0 (Notts 68-3 v Yorkshire)

Gone first ball and it's the same pair who combine as they did in the previous delivery! Ben Cliff (and Adam Lyth) are on a hat-trick!

Joe Clarke, who has been outstanding this season, has to walk for a first-ball duck.

He prods outside off stump and this time it's a simpler grab for Lyth.

The hat-trick ball from Cliff to Jack Haynes is clipped off his pads in front of square for four.

  13. 6 runs

for Ollie Popepublished at 13:21 BST 24 September

    Somerset v Surrey 96-2

A profitable first over after lunch as Ollie Pope strides down the pitch before lifting Archie Vaughan over the long-off boundary.

He follows it up with a four.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:19 BST 24 September

    Martindale c Lyth b Cliff 16 (Nottinghamshire 64-2 v Yorkshire)

One straight after lunch for Yorkshire!

It's a tentative prod from Ben Martindale who finds Adam Lyth at second slip and he is again safe with the pouch.

This one is a little trickier than his first catch but the veteran gets down expertly to take a superb grab. No mistake.

  15. Double setback for Worcestershirepublished at 13:18 BST 24 September

First-over-after-lunch breakthrough for Derbyshire as Brett D'Oliveira flashes at an angled ball from Luis Reece and is caught at gully by Matt Montgomery.

Worcestershire's captain punches the back of his bat in annoyance at himself as he trudges off with just four against his name on the scoreboard.

More bad news follows as Muhammad Abbas produces a beauty to bowl Jake Libby for 33 and leave the home side on 108-5 in the 31st over.

  16. Play under way at Sophia Gardenspublished at 13:17 BST 24 September

    Glamorgan 86-1 Essex

    Luke Hemmings
    BBC Sport Wales

Play is back under way here at a sunny Sophia Gardens with Jack Auld bowling at Kiran Carlson, who picks up a single.

  17. Postpublished at 13:17 BST 24 September

    Warks v Leics 80-5

Chris Woakes is so close to a wicket in the first over after lunch; a big appeal for lbw against Ben Cox is turned down and the Leicestershire right-hander almost chops onto his own stumps off the next ball.

Cox has looked the best of the visiting batters and it's imperative he sticks around if the Foxes are to put a competitive total on the board.

  18. 'Honours even'published at 13:16 BST 24 September

    Somerset v Surrey 96-2

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Somerset’s game plan - bat first, bat big and then let the spinners loose on a turning pitch - came unstuck even before play started, when Rory Burns called correctly at the toss, and, to no-one’s surprise, elected to bat.

But they have made the best of a bad job by picking up the wickets of Burns and Ryan Patel, both to spin, which has not yet been so marked as to interest the pitch inspector. Honours even so far.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:15 BST 24 September

    Kimber c Helm b Higgins 0 (Middx v Northants 83-7)

A wicket with the final ball of the first over after lunch! Incredible.

It's a wild swipe from Louis Kimber who fires straight to Tom Helm at first slip who clings on well.

Kimber goes for a duck. Ben Sanderson walks in for Northamptonshire.

  20. Postpublished at 13:14 BST 24 September

    Kent v Glos 78-2

Good start for Ollie Price after lunch at Canterbury as Matt Quinn drops short and he cuts it away for four to move into the 40s.

Quinn responds with a good one to end the over which beats the outside edge.
