    I was just about to say that I've got a feeling that Somerset are going to come hard here and use the newness of the ball because it's quite hard later on in the innings as we've seen in the Northants innings.

    While we await Somerset's reply, it is worth paying tribute to a cricketing icon.

    It would be a fitting tribute to Sir Garfield Sobers if Notts Outlaws could win the T20 Blast given his six-year connection with the county from 1968-74.

    But in truth some stunning all-round cricket from any of the four teams here at Edgbaston would do as well to mark the death of one of the greatest all-rounders the game has ever seen.

    Sobers, who played just one limited-overs match in his career, would have graced an occasion such as this.

    It is no exaggeration to say that a man who famously was the first to strike six sixes in an over - against Malcolm Nash in Swansea in 1968 - would have walked into any position in any team.

    Opening bowler, off-spinner, leg-spinner, elegant and destructive middle bat, he could do it all.

    Imagine the price Sir Garfield would go for at the IPL auction!

  14. 'Somerset should be ultra positive'

    I want Somerset to go out and not thinking it's a small target and we can be tentative. I think they should go out and be ultra positive and go for it.

    It's the sort of score which you know you're confidently going to reach as long as you don't lose wickets, but I hope they don't get complacent and they are positive and go about it in the right manner.

    Northants will be distraught with that. They really did not get going. Chris Lynn didn't affect the strike in the first three overs, took a while to get into his stride. He was just beginning to look good and then got bowled by Jake Ball.

    All in all, Somerset will take that. An outstanding performance with the ball and now they've just got to see it home with the batting.

    It has been a good pitch for the seamers. But it has not been swing, it has been hit-the-deck, push players back, force them to go cross-batted and pop it up to mid-off type of vibe.

    Northants need early wickets and they need 10 wickets. I don't think they can defend 143 against this batting line-up.

    Great bowling display by Somerset, with Jake Ball taking 4-17, Riley Meredith 3-13 and Overton grabbing 2-33.

    Sams ends with 1-20 and you would have to say that is advantage Somerset at the halfway stage of this semi-final.

    Professional cricketers always know when they've hit it, but on this occasion, Ben Sanderson didn't spot that the ball had absolutely cannoned into the outside edge and looped way up in the air!
