Is five months enough recovery time for someone who took an almighty amount of damage? We're about to find out.

What a fight the first one between these two was.

We had knockdowns, blood and plenty of drama but it was Daniel Dubois who came out on top in Manchester.

  4. Dubois - a man of few words (and a harp player!)published at 21:26 BST 17 October

BBC Sport boxing journalist at O2 Arena, London

Daniel Dubois has been his usual quiet and reserved self this week.

He has never been particularly comfortable in the media spotlight. You won't get a Tyson Fury-style monologue from him, although he does occasionally come out with a brilliant one-liner.

My favourite moment was his revelation to Piers Morgan that he had "dabbled in" playing the harp.

    Who knew?

He also turned up late for Friday's weigh-in, a reminder of the questions surrounding his preparations and late arrival at Wembley before last year's defeat by Oleksandr Usyk.

Hopefully, he'll be on time tonight.

Was a classic, to be fair.

  6. Is Wardley 'prepared to roll the dice'?published at 21:21 BST 17 October

    Dubois v Wardley 2

    Steve Bunce
Boxing expert on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think he’ll get a fight which doesn't go the distance, which is something that I am confident about.

I think a lot of it depends on how brave, and not that there’s any danger with his heart not working, how brave Fabio and his team are. How much of a risk they take. If they are really prepared to roll the dice.

If they are prepared to try and somehow push Daniel back, and push him back early to that confidence crisis that we saw in the Joe Joyce fight, the Oleksandr Usyk fight. We saw glimpses in the Jarrell Miller fight, where Daniel ends up doubting himself, and if he doubts himself early they could pull of a spectacular win.

  7. 'He was a victim of his success'published at 21:19 BST 17 October

    Dubois v Wardley 2

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Fabio Wardley’s long-time trainer Rob Hodgins, on BBC Radio 5 Live Boxing with Steve Bunce: "He doesn’t change much [with his preparation].

"He is a very hard trainer, but he sits there and thinks to himself, why did I go wrong with the team, analyses the fight, and where he made the mistakes.

"I think he was a victim of his success with the knockdown, third and first knockdowns. Anyone can be forgiven for getting carried away and his inexperience kind of showed there. I think he’ll be the first to admit that.”

  10. 'Throw the kitchen sink at him'published at 21:14 BST 17 October

    Dubois v Wardley 2

    Carl Frampton
Retired world champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

Wardley's jab needs to be a lot better.

He needs to stop going back in straight lines, and try to get angles, and try to push Daniel back which is a hard task. Daniel is way better at coming forward than he is going backwards, but being able to push him backwards is a difficult thing to do.

I think, and I normally wouldn’t give this advice to other fighters because 12-round world-title fights are hard and gruelling, but I think, he really needs to start fast.

There are times where Daniel kind of needs to be woken up at the start of a fight, needs to be hit before he is woken up and if he hits him, throw the kitchen sink at him. He needs to think of this in his head as a six-round fight. Put the foot down, and try to get rid of him, because the longer the fight goes on the less chance he has to win.

  11. A sell-out crowd… eventually?published at 21:11 BST 17 October

    Dubois v Wardley 2

    Kal Sajad
BBC Sport boxing journalist at O2 Arena, London

We’re expecting a sell-out crowd of around 19,000 at London’s O2 Arena tonight, but at 21:00 BST it was only about three quarters full.

Perhaps plenty of fans are still enjoying themselves at the bars. An underwhelming undercard hasn’t exactly helped build the atmosphere either.

But expect things to pick up considerably as we approach the main event. Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley both won plenty of new admirers after their thrilling first encounter in May.

And there’s nothing quite like a big all-British heavyweight showdown to get the crowd going.

  14. Welcome to the O2 - can we get another classic?published at 21:05 BST 17 October

    Dubois v Wardley 2

    Kal Sajad
BBC Sport boxing journalist at O2 Arena, London

Hello from the O2 Arena in London!

I had the privilege of being ringside for Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley's first encounter in Manchester. It was one of those nights you felt lucky to witness.

Can tonight possibly live up to the hype? Even if it's half as good, we're in for a treat.

Dubois is the favourite. He's the more technically accomplished boxer, with a better jab and a strong amateur pedigree.

But Wardley has that great heavyweight equaliser - one punch can change absolutely everything. Just ask Dubois, who was on the canvas after 10 seconds in their first fight.

So buckle up and enjoy it for however long it lasts.
