Our local radio teams across the country are getting reaction from all the 15:00 GMT games as we speak so why don't we have some reaction to the day's early games in the meantime?

Draw against Burnley. Didn’t play that great but still unbeaten in last 6 games. PUP!

    Thomas (age 8), Edinburgh

West Ham were favourites for promotion but with a weak goalkeeper and defence, their opponents are realising there is not much to fear. Away wins at Bolton and Swansea could have gone the other way and even winning 6-0 they didn't look good until Lincoln went down to 9 men.

    Clive, London

Hope Thomas the analytical eight-year-old Portsmouth fan from Edinburgh (can't be many of them!) had a great day!

Middlesbrough and Swansea both scored convincing wins to continue to set the pace in the automatic promotion places.

Wolves are up to third with their victory over Cardiff with their Black Country neighbours West Brom up to fourth with a win at West Ham who drop to eighth place.

Southampton, Birmingham and Stoke stay in contention with wins of their own.

It is looking grim for Preston and Derby at the bottom while Burnley earned a point under new boss Fabio Celestini.

    FT: Middlesbrough 3-0 Charlton

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Radio Tees

Charlton are a good side but Will Lankshear is at the top of his game. He's improving each game. I just find him a joy to watch as are his team mates.

Boro managed the game well. When you are at 2-0 it's never comfortable, but they never put us under any pressure. I was surprised the way Charlton set up in the first half.

It was a professional job and right now the three points are massive and I believe this side can go and win at Wrexham.

    They're a joy to watch.

  5. 'Burnley are just not good enough'published at 17:09 GMT 31 October

    FT: Burnley 0-0 Portsmouth

    David Unsworth
Former Burnley and Everton defender on BBC Radio Lancashire

The one positive to come out of the game was Josh Cullen coming off the bench. He was the saving grace because if he can stay fit he can maybe save Burnley, but there are massive problems.

As a group of individuals on the pitch, they are just not good enough.

  6. Hammers fans chant 'sacked in the morning' to Nunopublished at 17:07 GMT 31 October

FT: West Ham 1-3 West Brom

    Alex Hoad
BBC Sport England at the London Stadium

'Sacked in the morning' chant the Albion fans to Nuno Espirito Santo before the final whistle sounds.

Guess what, the West Ham fans join in before the final whistle stops them a short while later so those left are able to boo their displeasure.

The Hammers players are conducting a lap of appreciation and it's honestly quite uncomfortable to watch as there are maybe 5% of seats full at this point as they clap the empty stands.

Not saying it should, but this feels like the kind of evening when things happen in football, let alone waiting for the morning.

A passing Irons fan has told me to write a three word match report. I'll let you guess what they might have been.

What a three points for Bristol City!

    A topsy-turvy match sees City shade a five-goal thriller.

    Burnley's winless home run continues...

Fabio Celestini's reign at Turf Moor starts off with a draw against a stubborn Portsmouth side who extend their unbeaten run in the league to five matches.

No goals to separate these sides in the end after Burnley dominated the ball after the break but were unable to unpick the Pompey lock.

It's 387 days and running now since Burnley fans last saw their side win at home.

Nicely done by Wolves with a trio of headers.

There were two in the first half from Fer Lopez and Adam Armstrong before Ladislav Krejci added a third in the second period.

A fourth win in six games at home for Cesar Peixoto's side - more than they had managed in the previous 22 at Molineux.

    Scott Twine (90+3 mins)

    Massive goal for Bristol City!

It's another wonderfully worked goal as well.

The ball is sent in behind and Jed Wallace picks out Scott Twine.

The substitute looks like he has sweeped home the winner with an excellent first-time finish.

There's a mass exodus, the Burnley fans have had enough.

  20. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:53 GMT 31 October

    West Ham 1-3 West Brom

A dark day for West Ham, but the Baggies are boinging up the table.

The pressure is mounting on Nuno Espirito Santo after a third defeat in four home games in all competitions - the other a draw - and one in which they shot themselves in the foot with some poor defending.

Felix Horn Myhre tapped the visitors ahead after a clinical break and it might have been 2-0 before Jarrod Bowen's deflected strike snuck in off the near post.

However Myhre's lovely touch teed up Jimmy-Jay Morgan to slot the second after some slack defending after the break and then Callum Styles lashed home after Morato's tame clearance to seal it.
