Kyrell Lisbie trebled his goal tally this season, having only scored for the first time this season in Millwall's last home game

Millwall scored three goals in the first 17 minutes, spearheaded by a double from Kyrell Lisbie, as John Eustace's Derby County were well beaten at The Den.

Lisbie got the opener on three minutes, then netted his second in the 10th before Luke Cundle made it 3-0 - and Jake Cooper then added a late fourth.

The Rams had the last word when Filip Bilbija pulled one back after 87 minutes but are now without a victory in nine games, having won just once this season.

Eustace's men have taken just seven points from their first 13 games, and have not won at home this season.

Backmarkers Preston North End are the only side below the Rams in the Championship table.

Millwall's victory was only the second time last season's play-off semi-finalists have won in eight league games, having also triumphed at Alex Neil's former club Preston in their first game back after the long international break on 10 October.

Millwall were hot out of the blocks as Lisbie quickly maintained his scoring run at The Den.

He scored his first goal of the season when he started the Lions' comeback from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Lincoln City a fortnight ago.

This time he took just three minutes to find the net as target man Lyndon Dykes set up Lisbie to find the bottom corner.

He then got on the end of Caleb Taylor's nod-down to score from close range - and Millwall bagged a superb third with a sweeping move which culminated with Camiel Neghli picking out Cundle, who found the bottom right corner.

The hosts finally got a fourth goal after 84 minutes when Alfie Doughty's mis-hit shot fell to substitute Mihaiolo Ivanovic, who squared for skipper Cooper to slam into the roof of the net.

There was just enough time for a Derby consolation goal when Max Crocombe saved Oscar Fraulo's shot, only for Bilbija to fire in his first goal for the club.

Who's next?

Millwall now face successive away matches in the West Midlands, against Birmingham City at St Andrew's on Tuesday (20:00 BST), before meeting West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns next Saturday (15:00 BST).

Derby's next two games are both at home – against 15th-placed Norwich City on Tuesday (19:45 BST), then on Friday night at home to 19th-placed Bolton Wanderers (20:00 BST).

Millwall head coach Alex Neil told BBC Radio London:

"We all know we needed it. Our start was excellent. You could probably see that part of it was some pent-up frustration from all of us.

"There have been certain games that we've played recently where we've probably not got what we deserved. We needed to show what we're capable of.

"When you play with fear, you tend to just put it forward and play off second balls, but we played when it was on to play."

Derby County boss John Eustace told BBC Radio Derby:

"We've got a lot of injuries at the back at the moment – seven defenders out – and it's only a makeshift defence.

"But we have to defend better if we want to get any results in games, and certainly in that first 20 minutes we didn't do it.

"That first 20 minutes was really disappointing. The manner we conceded the goals was very soft. But I was happy with the response after half-time. We battled and showed a good spirit."
