    Dangerous moments for Wales.

    Wales 24-21 USA

Another USA driving maul collapses but this time of their own doing.

They work the ball into the Wales 22 though, and like the first half are starting the brighter of the two teams.

Another penalty for the visitors as Wales collapse the driving maul.

Wales will have to watch their discipline here, last thing they need is to lose a player against a team of USA's quality.

The first 30 minutes did not go Wales' way and they were making some uncharacteristic errors.

But to be able to ride that and not concede too many tries, the defence is looking so much stronger and it's kept them in the game.

They were then clinical when they got their opportunities. They really came alive in that last 10 minutes, brilliant stuff.

Can Wales keep their foot on the gas to start this second half?

    What a half of rugby!

Wales fans you've got to be happy with that?

USA supporters... have your team got what it takes to come back?

It was a slow start. Wales panicked a little bit and that allowed the USA to go 14-0 up.

But they settled really well, didn't panic and got themselves back into the game and they're in the lead at half-time.

Plenty in the crowd look as if they are still trying to take in what they have seen in that first 40 minutes.

Incidentally, the last time Wales Women won consecutive games was June 2024 - when they beat Spain in WXV qualifier after beating Italy in the Six Nations.

    What an exciting half.

There was a few fumbles for Wales with a few handling errors and turn overs, but their belief has again come through.

The way they've come back in that first half is brilliant.

While the rest of Wales have headed down the tunnel, co-captains Kate Williams and Alex Callender have stayed out on the pitch with half-backs Keira Bevan and Lleucu George.

They look so fired up right now.

  14. Half-time: Wales 24-21 USApublished at 15:53 BST 26 September

What a first half of rugby.

Four tries for Wales, three for the USA, in what was an absolutely frantic first 40 minutes of rugby.

More of the same in the second half? Yes please.

We'll be back before you know it for all the updates from the second half.

What a turnaround this has been!

You just sensed there could be another score before half-time, and when USA were penalised inside their own 22 for holding onto the ball at the breakdown Wales took full advantage.

Kelsey Jones took the penalty quickly and got to within a yard of the USA try-line, before handing off to her fellow forwards to add the finishing touch.

At the fifth attempt co-captain Alex Callender found the smallest gap in the USA defence, but it was all she needed to give Wales a first lead of the afternoon.

Another conversion is missed by Freya Bell, but Wales lead going into the break.

The Americans are dynamic, strong, they recycle the ball well so Wales have to so hard defensively.

They need to keep their shape and trust the training they've had in the summer.

    Wales 19-21 USA

It's Wales who will have what could be the final attacking platform of the first half, as Telesi Uhatafe's clearing kick does not get much distance behind it.

It will be a line-out to Wales midway into USA territory.

    Wales 19-21 USA

It's a really even contest out there now, with Wales having done well to weather the early storm.

A few minutes remain in the first half, and you wouldn't put it past there being at least another score with the way this game is going.

It was brilliant build up play from Wales.

Sisilia Tuipulotu is so hard to stop in that position.
