    Hampshire 81-0 v Blaze

Hampshire's openers are content to milk singles from this Lucy Higham over, hitting with the spin to keep the scoreboard ticking along.

Higham goes for flight and gets away with a full toss as Maia Bouchier can only steer it for another single.

A slight delay at the end of the over, with Bouchier squatting on the turf and calling for a member of the medical staff to come on. Hopefully it's nothing major...

Kirstie Gordon really does get through her overs quickly and that helps to put some pressure on the batters.

It means Hampshire are restricted to just two runs, although their overall rate has risen to a healthy five per over now.

  3. Postpublished at 14 overs

    Hampshire 73-0 v Blaze

A double-pronged spin attack now as off-spinner Lucy Higham is given her first over, but Ella McCaughan lifts her over the top on the leg side for a boundary, bisecting the fielders perfectly.

McCaughan clearly enjoyed that - she spots another opportunity to do the same again later in the over, with the same result.

Blaze must be starting to get anxious for a wicket.

    Hampshire 63-0 v Blaze

Kirstie Gordon has Maia Bouchier prodding and missing outside off stump and it's another good over from the Blaze captain, although a misfield off the final ball helps Hampshire to pick up two when they should probably have had a single.

Ella McCaughan has 30 and Bouchier is starting to catch her up on 23.

  5. 50 runs

50 partnership for McCaughan and Bouchierpublished at 12 overs

    Hampshire 59-0 v Blaze

A boundary fumble by Orla Prendergast ensures that Maia Bouchier's pull shot earns four runs and brings the Hampshire total past 50.

Cassidy McCarthy is still pitching too short, too often and the batters are happy to take advantage. All of a sudden, runs are starting to flow freely.

  6. Postpublished at 11 overs

    Hampshire 49-0 v Blaze

The first appearance of spin in this final comes immediately after the powerplay, with Blaze captain Kirstie Gordon bringing herself on to bowl.

It's an excellent first over from the left-armer, who rattles through her six balls - each of which is defended immaculately by Ella McCaughan.

  7. Postpublished at 10 overs

    Hampshire 49-0 v Blaze

Powerplay done and Hampshire aren't completely motoring just yet, but they'll be delighted to have all 10 wickets still intact after being put in.

Ella McCaughan unveils that clinical cut shot again to bring her another boundary, with Cassidy McCarthy struggling a bit for line and length so far.

McCaughan has 26 to her name, with Maia Bouchier on 14.

  8. Postpublished at 9 overs

    Hampshire 37-0 v Blaze

That's more like it from Maia Bouchier, who doubles her score by latching onto a widish Grace Ballinger delivery and whipping it to the cover boundary.

Nine off the over - comfortably the most expensive of this powerplay so far.

  9. Postpublished at 8 overs

    Hampshire 28-0 v Blaze

Blaze make their first bowling change, with Cassidy McCarthy replacing fellow right-arm seamer Charley Phillips at the Hotel End.

Maia Bouchier takes a very tentative single to mid-off and she's yet to get into her rhythm. At the moment it's opening partner Ella McCaughan who's driving this Hampshire innings, with 18 of their 28 runs so far - and Bouchier being outscored by extras.

  10. Postpublished at 7 overs

    Hampshire 23-0 v Blaze

Lovely delicate cut by Ella McCaughan to pick up her third boundary as the ball has just enough to beat the diving Charley Phillips on the rope.

Good recovery by Grace Ballinger, though, who concedes just a single from the remainder of the over, with Maia Bouchier still struggling to pick out gaps in the inner ring.

  11. Postpublished at 6 overs

    Hampshire 18-0 v Blaze

Charley Phillips gives away another wide as she attempts a bouncer - and she doesn't appear to learn her lesson, sending down another short ball that Ella McCaughan gratefully pulls to the boundary.

That takes McCaughan into double figures on 12, while Maia Bouchier has a more sedate two runs to her name from 14 deliveries.

  12. Postpublished at 5 overs

    Hampshire 11-0 v Blaze

A round of applause from the home crowd as Ella McCaughan registers the first boundary of the final, again giving herself some room as she drills Grace Ballinger through cover.

Hampshire's batters just starting to settle in after those tight first few overs, perhaps.

    Hampshire 6-0 v Blaze

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

It has been a very watchful, cagey start by the two openers, taking a few risky singles.

They do not want the score to totally stagnate across this powerplay.

    Hampshire 6-0 v Blaze

Ella McCaughan gives herself some space, backing away to leg, but she can only get a single as she drives the ball to mid-off.

Maia Bouchier is also under way after 12 balls as Charley Phillips overpitches and the batter clips the ball away on the leg side for a couple.

  15. Postpublished at 3 overs

    Hampshire 2-0 v Blaze

A moment of excitement for Grace Ballinger as she tempts Maia Bouchier forward for an unconvincing prod and the ball whizzes through to Sarah Bryce with just that sneaking suspicion of an edge.

The umpire is unimpressed, but Bouchier is still to get off the mark. Ella McCaughan has done that, steering a single on the off side, but this is a tight start from the Blaze seamers.

  16. Postpublished at 2 overs

    Hampshire 1-0 v Blaze

Maia Bouchier is very much the batter in form - she's scored hundreds in both of her last two innings, including that 118 against The Blaze in the final group game on this ground earlier this month.

No runs for Bouchier in this opening Charley Phillips over, though. She can't get the ball off the square and the opening run of the Hampshire innings arrives courtesy of a wide down leg side.

  17. Postpublished at 1 over

    Hampshire 0-0 v Blaze

As expected, The Blaze open up with left-arm seamer - and regular BBC Sport contributor - Grace Ballinger and her first over is met with a series of forward defensives from Ella McCaughan.

A maiden to start for Ballinger.

Hampshire captain Georgia Adams called incorrectly at the coin toss... so it's opposing skipper Kirstie Gordon who gets the decision and she opts to put Hampshire in.

On both occasions during the group stage, the team chasing ended up victorious - The Blaze at Trent Bridge and Hampshire here, only 10 days ago.

It's the same Blaze line-up from that final group game, while Hampshire also keep faith with the same team that thrashed Surrey by 194 runs in the eliminator earlier this week.

  19. Hampshire seeking home comforts a year onpublished at 10:27 BST 19 September

    Hampshire v Blaze (10:30 BST)

Technically, although Hampshire are based at the Utilita Bowl, it's The Blaze who are the home team today as they finished top of the table and qualified automatically for the final.

Nevertheless, this is essentially home advantage for Georgia Adams' side - although they'll be mindful it didn't do them much good this time last year.

On that occasion, Hampshire posted 288-6 - only for opponents Lancashire to chase it down with nine balls to spare and deny them silverware.

Having missed out again at Blast Finals Day back in July - is it finally Hampshire's turn to savour success?

The Blaze are reigning Champions of both the Vitality Blast and the Vitality T20 Women's County Cup, the dominant side in the women's game chasing a third title already this season.

The Blaze came top of the group stage but oddly the format sees them not have home advantage for the final, that goes to their opposition.

Hampshire had to beat Surrey in the eliminator on Wednesday, also with home advantage to get through to today.

Maia Boucher's 117* backed up 118 v Hampshire in the final group game just days before, she is now the leading scorer in the competition with 721 runs at 80, clearly the main threat to further Blaze domination of the game.
