The remote control cars that bring the javelins back to the competitors are back and hard at work.

As the officials in the infield load the javelins into them can't help but thing they look like a robot that's been pole-axed by the house robot Shunt and then frantically driving off with the weapon still attached.

Ky Robinson won gold in the 10,000m earlier this week and he'll be one of the favourites again in the 5000m.

Of the 26 runners in this race, the Australian has the quickest season's best in the 5000m with an astonishing time of 12:50.82.

He is looking comfortable just behind the leaders as we approach the halfway point.

England have taken the first set in their men's pairs semi-final against Canada.

The duo of Nick Brett and Jamie Walker put on a dominant display at the SEC Centre to take the opening set 9-1.

The winners will meet either Malaysia or Northern Ireland in the final with the Irish also currently 1-0 up.

The athletes have all competed two jumps in the women's long jump final and England's Jazmin Sawyers is currently sitting in the bronze medal position with a leap oof 6.75m.

Nigeria's Ruth Usoro is leading the way on 6.87m, while Brooke Buschkuehl is third with 6.80.

The final act of the 2026 Commonwealth Games boxing is for England's super-heavyweight Damar Thomas to collect his gold medal.

Narender Berwal takes silver but his country India pick up the most golds across the boxing events this year with seven.

England were second on the overall boxing leaderboard with four golds, while Australia won two and Northern Ireland claimed one.

Then there's David Mullarkey, who won bronze in the 10,000m earlier this week and made history for the Isle of Man. It was the island's first-ever athletics medal in the competition's 96-year history.

And it was their first Commonwealth Games medal in any sport since shooter Tim Kneale's silver in 2018.

Dimeji Shittu can feel slightly hard done by to not win gold at the 2026 Commonwealth Games but nothing can take this silver medal away.

The 24-year-old is still all smiles and looks very proud as his prize is placed around his neck.

Shittu fought well and will, no doubt, be back to compete for titles again in future competitions.

Wales team captain Olivia Breen could only manage three hours of sleep after the excitement of winning gold in the T38 long jump final on Friday.
