Harvey Elliott has been officially presented to the media here in Valencia.

"For me personally, I want to get the confidence back in myself and to play with freedom and enjoy my football again.

It's been really hard to adapt to the heat because it constantly rains in England. It’s ridiculous the heat. The move is really challenging for me and for my family but at the same time, it’s the best for me and my career at this time.

I’ve come here with an aim and a goal and it’s a really big step in my career but I’m really excited to see what’s to come. It's a different culture and different teammates but I need to adapt.

"I've had a brilliant first few days here and I'm looking forward to what's to come at this club."

Arsenal have added almost 400 matches worth of Premier League experience to the heart of their defence and midfield to try make the gap between themselves and the rest of the league even larger.

Could their failed attempt to sign a world class attacker prove costly? Or do they have enough strength and depth elsewhere to retain the title?

Just look at all of those green names! It is fair to say that the Blues have a completely new look under Xabi Alonso.

The Blues, who have been notorious for signing young players in recent times, have signed three players over the age of 34 to bring much-needed experience to a young but talented squad.

Liverpool, who had the highest net spend of any side in the top-flight, have added both experience and potential in the heart of defence and some exciting new faces in the wide areas.

Lots of our readers' comments have suggested that their midfield is still an issue because of a lack of a natural number six - Liverpool's shaky start to the season suggests there could be come truth to that.

Similarly to their red rivals, Manchester City have transformed their midfield in the transfer window.

The Citizens look well stocked in most positions except centre-forward where Erling Haaland is the only natural fit. Will Enzo Maresca opt to play with a make shift number nine, or could he decide to play without one at all?

Manchester United's midfield looks much more complete full thanks to their business in the summer transfer window.

They didn't quite manage to sign a left-back, which many fans believe was a crucial area that the club's hierarchy needed to address. Given his injury record in the past, there will be doubts over Luke Shaw's ability to play multiple games a week now that European football has returned. Will Patrick Dorgu be the one to step up if Shaw needs to be rested?

Spurs fan Kish Patel says the club spent money on players who are not worth the fee, as well as a lack of innovation to find good left-wing options.

Chelsea fan Savage Dan is unhappy after Monaco's last-minute pull of Camara move but says the Blues have still had a good transfer window.

On of Leeds' deadline day signings was Jean-Matteo Bahoya, who joins on a season-long loan from Eintract Frankfurt.

In the 2024-25 season, Bahoya set the record for the fastest ever sprint speed recorded in Bundesliga history, 37.16 km/h, just 0.42 km/h slower than the average pace of Usain Bolt's 2009 World Record 100m run.

For context, Leeds winger Dan James - who is well-known to have electrifying speed - reached a top speed of 36.13km/h last season.

Blink and you'll miss him.

Leeds United defender Jaka Bijol, asked if he was keeping up to date with Leeds' late transfer business on deadline day: "I checked my phone because it is everywhere these days, you can get information so quickly. It is harder not to see it or hear it [than to see it].

"I went to sleep before the last transfer [happened] so I woke up and saw that one in the morning today.. Of course you keep up with it, it's your job. You're still interested.

"I feel like we have a really strong squad this season. We had a really good squad last season and we have found some improvements. They have raised our level a little bit.

"We have to aim high but our first focus is staying in the Premier League, it's still our second season - but we have a really good squad to do something bigger."

New Leeds United signing Melvin Bard has said the history "makes the club an attractive one" after joining from Ligue 1 side Nice on an initial loan deal.

"Leeds is a historic club in the Premier League so it was an easy choice," Bard said. "I can't wait to discover the city, the stadium, my team-mates as well, and to start playing in front of the fans.

"Playing in the Premier League has always been a dream of mine, ever since I was a child. When the opportunity came, I seized it immediately.

"I would describe myself as someone who never gives up as a player. I am a defender and I love to defend. I love to attack as well, of course. But to sum it up, I would just say I like the fight and I never give up."

• Forward Largie Ramazani has joined Championship side Burnley on a season-long loan, with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met.
• Midfielder Sam Chambers has joined League One Northampton Town on a season-long loan deal.
• Winger Wilfried Gnonto has joined Fiorentina on loan until the end of the 2026-27 season, in a deal with the option to buy.
• Leeds have signed defender Melvin Bard on loan from Nice, with the option to make the move permanent.
• Leeds have signed Jean-Matteo Bahoya on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt. There is a £1.7m loan fee and an option to buy the forward for around £19.7m.
