    George Russell wins the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix sprint race and in the nick of time just as the rain starts to come down at Zandvoort!

    Charles Leclerc with a mammoth stint on a set of softs guides his Ferrari into second, with Lando Norris holding off Kimi Antonelli to hold onto third.

    What a race.

    Kimi Antonelli is closing in on Lando Norris in a last lap battle for third place!

    But the championship leader can't make his move stick on the McLaren of Lando Norris who holds position in the final few corners.

    George Russell's about to win this sprint.

    Charles Leclerc's almost within a second of race leader George Russell, who's probably thanking his lucky stars this sprint's only 24 laps long.

    As for the race at large, the top seven are very bunched up but below that, there's it's more spread out.

    There are all sorts of clouds in the sky and it's very windy here. The risk of rain is increasing but I don't think it's going to be enough to force anyone in to change tyres. This means that conditions could get tricky and treacherous.

  6. I'm no meteorologist but I think we might not actually see any meaningful wind or rain before the end of this race.

    Which will suit Charles Leclerc in second place given he has a set of softs on his Ferrari..

    This is very smart from Ferrari, they've split the strategy between the drivers with Leclerc on the softs and Hamilton on mediums and now they've got all this data for the race on Sunday.

    Cracking stuff, this. They're very bunched up. Imagine what the race tomorrow will be like if this is anything to go by.

    Great move from Charles Leclerc! He got that great slingshot of the banking from the final corner, he managed to sling his way past into Turn 1. Lando is struggling, it doesn't look good in that McLaren.

    And we do!

    It's been coming and right as lap 18 begins, Charles Leclerc makes his move on Lando Norris and cleanly overtakes him.

    1.4 seconds between him and leader George Russell. He couldn't...could he?

    Charles Leclerc is closer than ever on Lando Norris. He can almost smell the fumes coming off the McLaren. Leclerc is looking feisty and ready to pounce.

    There's a chain reaction going on here. Lando Norris is back to within a second of race leader George Russell...but Charles Leclerc's only half a second behind him.

    Bit of a war of attrition, this.

    Charles Leclerc's bided his time for most of this sprint race and now he's within a car length of Lando Norris.

    Just a handful of tenths separates the two drivers now.

    Further down, Lewis Hamilton's worked his way to within 0.4 seconds of Max Verstappen, with the Dutchman currently struggling to overtake Oscar Piastri.

    Those top four runners have broken away from the rest of the race. The gap from Kimi Antonelli means he can focus all eyes forward and he is chasing down the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc. He can smell blood.

    Needless to say, the Lando Norris-Charles Leclerc battle's benefitting George Russell.

    Nearly 1.5 seconds between them.

    If it ends like this, that's another small chunk of points towards Russell's title charge and pursuit of Lewis Hamilton and his Mercedes team-mate Kimi Antonelli.
