Games like tonight often present an opportunity for managers to use their squads and Fulham boss Alvaro Arbeloa has stated a happy dressing room is the "most important thing".

Arbeloa said: "For me, that is the most important thing. We are a team and we need to remain a team. Football isn't just about titles or money, it is about being part of something that is bigger than yourself. I would say being part of a team is the most beautiful thing in football."

Luton Town

Chelsea and Luton meet for the first time since December 2023 and this is their first game in the League Cup.

Luton’s last win at Stamford Bridge was 3-1 in September 1986 in the old First Division.

It's not been the greatest start to the season for League One side AFC Wimbledon.

They were beaten 3-0 away at Huddersfield on the opening day before playing out a goalless draw at home to Reading on Saturday.

Midfielder Reggie Watson would become Chelsea's fourth-youngest player of all time at 16 years and 214 days old.

The youngster may look familiar to those watching because he is the son of former Wigan midfielder Ben Watson.

He featured during Chelsea's pre-season programme and only 1960s debutants Ian Hamilton and Kingsley Whiffen, along with Reggie Walsh in recent years, have played for the Blues at a younger age.

He is the only academy player in the squad to face League One side Luton Town.

The Enzo Fernandez saga doesn't look like it's coming to an end anytime soon.

With Man City keen on a move for the midfielder before the end of Tuesday's deadline, he was dropped to the bench in Chelsea's win on Monday.
