Isco's goal the difference as Betis continue perfect start against Feyenoord
Real Betis continued their 100% start in the Champions League with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Feyenoord in Seville.
Betis began their first Champions League campaign in 21 years with back-to-back 3-2 victories but, unlike their wins against Lille and Porto, they did not have to come from behind to defeat Feyenoord.
Manuel Pellegrini's side controlled much of the first half, but were fortunate to go into half-time level after Feyenoord's Gjivai Zechiel blasted over the crossbar from seven yards out.
Betis reasserted their authority after the break and in the 59th minute Isco converted from the penalty spot - his second penalty in two Champions League games - after Jeremiah St. Juste handled a shot from Abde Ezzalzouli.
The hosts lost attacking impetus after winger Antony limped off with 25 minutes remaining but, despite anxiety growing among the home fans as Feyenoord pushed for a leveller, Betis hung on for maximum points.
Betis will travel to Germany to face Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, 4 November (20:00 GMT), 24 hours after Feyenoord host Inter Milan in Rotterdam.
