A final word from Everton manager David Moyes on the club's academy and whether more players will get a chance because of the small squad size: "We’ve got some academy players who will obviously get involved. Are they ready to make the step up? I’m not sure about that. We will see how that goes. Some of them might be pushed in."

On 18-year-old forward Braiden Graham: "I don’t think he’s a striker, first of all. He’s probably someone who would play off the sides for us.

"I like Braiden, he’s trained with us quite a lot and he was in pre-season with us.

"He’s certainly moving in the right direction. It would be a difficult ask for any young player to come in and be a source for goals."

Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi was asked about Richarlison, who has been linked with a move away from the club and was left out of the club's Premier League squad: "I think Richarlison, he decided everything. He spoke with me at the start of pre-season and his idea was to leave. In the end we went to bring another striker and at the beginning of pre-season I only want the players that want to stay here with pride, passion to stay.

"Then every other problem is not my business, it's the responsibility of the club.

"I can't say anything because I didn't decide anything. The message from Richarlison from the beginning of the season was clear and I accepted that.

"I don't know if there is an offer from Turkey. I don't know if the club has accepted the offer. I know there was an offer before the end of the transfer market, but he didn't accept.

"For me, nothing has changed."

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Roberto de Zerbi find his side bottom of the table, without a point or a goal after two games.

He started his news conference by providing a team news update before Saturday's match at Nottingham Forest: "They are all available to play. James Maddison started [training] yesterday with us, but the other players are in good condition. Savio is back."

When asked about Mykhailo Mudryk: "One part of the game he's ready to play - 20, 15, 30 minutes. He has to take this season in the right way. It's the right moment to show what people think. I think he's ready to play part of the game [against Forest]."

I think we’ve got new owners in who are still finding their way at the club. I think as we get to know each other a bit more, it will be better."

A final word from Manchester United manager Michael Carrick, on playing at Everton: "However long I have been going to Everton, every single game has been as tough as they come. We have had some good results, some not so good results, whatever position we are in, whenever I have been there it has been tough.

"David is a terrific manager and it has been tough. We are expecting as tough a game as it gets."

On the reported late bid for James Garner by Chelsea on deadline day, Everton manager David Moyes said: "What was said was completely untrue, so I don’t know where that’s come from. There’s no truth in that what so ever."

On how he feels about his squad now, Everton manager David Moyes said: "I know what I needed and I know what it’s like to build a squad for the Premier League.

"I know the numbers you need. I’ve been around long enough to know that, but some things went against us and some things could have gone better.

"Ultimately, we didn’t want to lose a lot of the players, but for different reasons that had to happen.

"They’re all going to have to be able to muck in as we’ve got a real small squad now.

"It gives opportunities to some people who have not had them and sometimes in football you need to be given that chance so that you can show what you can do.

"I have no concerns. I am sure they will be fully at-it."

Ian, north Wales: What a load of rubbish Dave, London. Our problem was selling players we needed before we bought replacements. Pickford, Branthwaite, Gardner, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish seem happy enough to me.

Leo, London: Dave, they are a team with a major history that is one of the biggest in the PL and have recently opened a massive stadium, so even when they were in a financially bad place they have a clear attraction which should be greater with the Hill Dickinson.

Terry, Lincoln: Dave (13:59) must be a Liverpool supporter. I mean, all the signs are there - he hates Everton and lives in London!

In response to whether their business was limited due to Harrison Armstrong's sale being blocked, Everton manager David Moyes said: "I don’t do the financials here, but I think what you’re saying is right. We were looking to get some money in.

"We lost Iliman Ndiaye, who we didn’t want to lose, but it’s quite difficult when the likes of Manchester City come along looking for your players."

On what happened with Folarin Balogun on deadline day, Everton manager David Moyes said: "It wasn’t anybody’s fault. It happens in football a lot. The player had a problem in his medical and that was simply it. There’s no other story behind it."

"He only played three or four times for us last season, so for me he is almost like a new signing, he has added so much to the group.

"He has played off the right for Denmark, he scored a great goal this summer. There are times in training when he does it, being such a young age and having the attributes he has got, we have got to get the best from him."

Here's some more from Manchester United boss Michael Carrick, on Joshua Zirkzee: "For sure Josh is important, for the team, for the squad the depth. Josh is happy here and I have a really good relationship with Josh. He wants to play more than he has but that is good healthy competition.

Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso on summer signing Morgan Rogers, who had previously been heavily linked with a move to Sunday's opponents Arsenal: "Squad planning, taking big decisions, for sure, Morgan was a big, big one to get a player of his stature - in the present and future.

"He will be a key player for the next six, seven years. He's had a great impact."

On having less possession than Fulham and Brighton in his opening two Premier League games: "What we want, we are able to adapt. There will be games where we have a lot of possession but struggle to score.

"We are early days, we have had two games and two wins. We are aware we can do better."

Manchester City

More from Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca on Enzo Fernandez's fitness and whether he will play on Saturday against Coventry: "Enzo is ready."

On whether the squad are happy he has joined: "I just said he is a winner and when you belong to a squad and another winning player arrives, they are always happy.
