    Birmingham 1-2 Bristol City

All the talk has been, can Dom Ballard make the step-up to the Championship?

On that evidence, yes, yes he can, emphatically so.

Blues piling forward with just a few minutes remaining to try and salvage a point.

  2. 'Fantastic goal from Ballard'published at 14:15 BST 22 August

    Birmingham 1-2 Bristol City

    Ed Hadwin
    Commentator on BBC Radio Bristol

It has been a good game and City have played so well, but it is a truly fantastic goal from Ballard. What a way to score your first goal for the club.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:14 BST 22 August

    Millwall 3-0 Norwich

Off comes Casper De Norre for Millwall and new signing Jordi Osei-Tutu comes on for his debut after only joining this week.

  4. Postpublished at 14:14 BST 22 August

    Lincoln 1-3 Portsmouth

Adrian Segecic has a fine chance to put the bow on this from Abu Kamara's pass but his firmly hit shot is too close to George Wickens in the home goal.

What a way to open your account...

An absolute worldie. Goal of the season wrapped up already?

Rio Cardines whips in a perfect cross from the left with his right peg, Dom Ballard ghosts to the near post and back-heels the ball into the top corner past the despairing dive of James Beadle to his right.

You need to see this goal. You might be seeing it for years.

    Wow.

That puts the tin lid on it.

Camiel Neghli picks out the substitute Luke Cundle and he cannot miss.

    So, so good from Millwall.

    So, so poor from Norwich.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:12 BST 22 August

    Birmingham 1-1 Bristol City

Jay Stansfield is off for the hosts and last-season's joint top-scorer Marvin Ducksch is coming on for the final six minutes and stoppage-time.

  8. 'Anyone can win'published at 14:10 BST 22 August

    Birmingham 1-1 Bristol City

    Lee Camp
Former West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham goalkeeper on BBC Radio WM

Bristol City have got a foothold of the game once again, it feels like anyone can win. It would be a great win if Blues can do it.

  9. Postpublished at 14:10 BST 22 August

    Birmingham 1-1 Bristol City

Blues have had the lion's share of possession but, despite it being 1-1, have yet to muster a shot on target.

Their latest attack came from centre-back Christoph Klarer launching a long diagonal into the Robins box from deep.

The visitors have looked far more threatening, particularly on the break, and the hosts are in desperate need of some creativity.

  10. Postpublished at 14:09 BST 22 August

    Lincoln 1-3 Portsmouth

Still a shade over 10 minutes plus plenty of injury time to play in this but I have to say it is fizzling out.

Lincoln have battled gamely but it's going to be successive league defeats to start life back in the second tier after 65 years away.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:07 BST 22 August

    Birmingham 1-1 Bristol City

August Priske heads off with forward Luis Vasquez coming on off the bench for the second game in succession for Blues.

Can he make a name for himself in his new surroundings in the final 10 minutes and change?

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:06 BST 22 August

    Lincoln 1-3 Portsmouth

    Ah, real shame this.

Portsmouth winger Josh Murphy, not long on as a sub, is forced off and on comes Marko Milovanovic.

Murphy has struggled with injuries recently. Hopefully this is just a knock.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 14:06 BST 22 August

    Millwall 2-0 Norwich

Millwall replace Jenson Metcalfe with Dan Kelly.

Lyndon Dykes is on for Josh Coburn and Kyrell Lisbie takes a break to give Luke Cundle the final 13 minutes.

This one looks done and dusted.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:06 BST 22 August

    Birmingham 1-1 Bristol City

Blues sub Patrick Roberts goes into Will Finnie's book for a late lunge in midfield after over-running the ball.

  15. 'Top quality saves today from Beadle'published at 14:05 BST 22 August

    Birmingham 1-1 Bristol C

    Ed Hadwin
    Commentator on BBC Radio Bristol

Birmingham have had a few moments, but Sam Tickle has barely had a save to make, whereas James Beadle has made two top quality saves.

  16. Postpublished at 14:05 BST 22 August

    Millwall 2-0 Norwich

Vladan Kovacevic dithers on the ball in his six-yard box and Zak Lovelace closes him down.

The Norwich goalkeeper shows a neat turn to get out of trouble - all seems a little unnecessary given how poor the visitors have been.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 14:05 BST 22 August

    Lincoln 1-3 Portsmouth

Final two subs for the home side.

Tanto Olaofe and Mason Melia are on for Freddie Draper and Ben House up top.

The latter should have made it 1-0 to the Imps inside the first five minutes and thereafter hasn't had a chance of note.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 14:04 BST 22 August

    Birmingham 1-1 Bristol City

Tomi Horvat has a speculative pop from distance, firing in a low shot towards the bottom corner with the outside of his boot but James Beadles gets down to his right to shovel the ball away.

The ball is crossed back in from the Robins left and appears to ricochet to Beadle off the hand of Christoph Klarer but his hands are by his side and ref Will Finnie says nothing doing.

  19. Postpublished at 14:03 BST 22 August

    Lincoln 1-3 Portsmouth

Portsmouth fans are already chanting about Lincoln City getting relegated...

  20. Postpublished at 14:02 BST 22 August

    Birmingham 1-1 Bristol City

With the Robins defending with great discipline and intensity Patrick Roberts manages to work space for a jinking run down the Blues right and wins a dangerous free-kick.

Demarai Gray curls a wicked ball into the box but it flashes wide without a touch, though the offside August Priske was inches away from connecting in the mixer.
