  4. 'I might have rather had £300-400m to spend'published at 20:59 BST 12 September

    FT: Tottenham 0-0 Everton

    Everton

Everton manager David Moyes, speaking to Sky Sports: "We were under the cosh from the first minute. But the players stuck at it. Tottenham were desperately looking for a win. As were we but them being at home put us under the pressure. We coped brilliantly well. I don't think the goalkeeper [Jordan Pickford] had many saves to make. We had to fill the box and reduce the spaces for them. Tottenham played well and made it difficult for us.

"We have been playing a lot better than we were today. We had chances to do better with the ball. It's not our best game with the ball today, that is for sure."

On the Everton defence: "With the boys at the back and the goalkeeper, there is real resilience to make sure we do not concede any goals. The goalkeeper has got a great record for clean sheets and he got one today as well. The likes of Jarrad Branthwaite, Vitaliy Mykolenko and James Tarkowski played really well today.

"Ainsley Maitland-Niles needs a mention as well. Really pleased with the fact that he has come in and done really well for us.

"What excites me is that I have a job to try and prove a few wrong. We have had to come from behind because we don't have all the tools to challenge the top teams. We have had to fight for everything in the league. We have shown we can do that too.

"I might have rather had £300-400m that Tottenham had to spend. But if you have not got that, you need to find a way to try and get a result, to win or take something from the games."

On Jack Grealish: "If Jack comes in and shows the form he did at the start of last season, I will be thrilled. He's been out for six and half months. He loves his football and always wants to be in the team. But we also want to make sure we do the right thing and bring him back in the right way. Tyrique George has started the season well, so we will get good competition, which is great."

  5. 'I'm not positive and I'm not negative - I'm realistic'published at 20:58 BST 12 September

    FT: Tottenham 0-0 Everton

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Roberto de Zerbi, speaking to Sky Sports: "It is not a tough. A tough moment was last season in Sunderland, when we were fighting relegation. Now it is not a normal moment, but it is one of the moments in football when you are building a team and are starting late. I think we played very well in the first 30 minutes and then we lost energy because our physical condition is not the best and we are working on that.

"We didn't shoot for the quality of the play we showed. We have to shoot more times. We went inside Everton's area 74 times but we didn't create enough chances to explain the quality of play we did. We have to work, for sure. We also have to analyse the last decision because too many times we made the wrong decision. But I think we played well."

On the physical condition of his players: "After the World Cup it is like this. We suffered a few injuries in Australia and then the players couldn't work. I'm not positive and I'm not negative - I'm realistic. I think if you play like this for 30 minutes you are capable to play football. We have to extend that 30 minutes to 60, 65, 70, 80 and then 90 minutes. Then we have to stay more focused on the last 25 minutes of the pitch. If we had won today, we would speak about a completely different game."

On Tottenham's lack of goals: "I'm not a journalist, I don't write on social media. I just coach and I have to analyse the performances. I have to analyse the quality of my players and the potential situations where we could and should have scored and made better decisions.

"I think the first 30 minutes were very, very good - but we didn't find the goal. I think in that moment we suffer too much with confidence and this is another important part for us at the moment. In the second half, I observed that many players had a little bit less confidence and I don't like this. They have to be happy and understand we are in the right way.

"The players are human and they have emotions and they think with their head. My position is to help them and stay focus on the improvement we have to do. If we play 90 minutes like we did in the first 30 minutes, I think we are going to win many games."

On the fans booing: "I'm sorry to the fans. We are sorry to the fans. They were fantastic today, especially in the first part of the game because when they see the team is playing well, pushing to find the solution they were inside the pitch with my players. Then the reaction of the fans is normal. We have to say thanks all the time to them."

  6. 'If the team is on it, I score a hat-trick'published at 20:57 BST 12 September

    FT: Bournemouth 2-2 Brentford

    Brentford

Brentford striker Kevin Schade speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "The draw was lucky for us, a bit frustrating as well.

On his goals: "The first one was a header, we have talked about doing many crosses. I knew I was in space, so I concentrated and put my head in the corner.

"The second was pure instinct, I knew the goal was empty so I shot.

"But if the whole team is on it I probably score a hat-trick"

  7. 'No problem with fans showing frustration'published at 20:56 BST 12 September

    FT: Tottenham 0-0 Everton

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham defender Andy Robertson, speaking to Sky Sports: "It's about staying positive. Keep going and keep working hard every week. Today for large parts, I thought we were really good. But we are missing the key part. You win games by scoring goals. We have the quality but we are not showing it at the moment.

"Bump in the road in the first half was we went down to 10 men for a while. We should not let things like these affect us. That was the shift in the first half but we came back into the game. I never felt Everton were on top any time.

"Our final decisions in the final third have to be a lot better. Not rush it and stop looking at clock and not panic. Lot of positives to take from today and lot of work to do as well.

"We conceded five goals in the first two game but we have keep two clean sheets now. It takes a lot of courage to do that. It's a huge positive. We have to put the whole package together. It's not because of the lack of trying. If you can't win, do not get beaten."

On reaction from fans at full-time: "They were excellent in the first half and kept pushing us and pushing us. It's natural unfortunately this club has been through a lot during the last couple of years. These fans have walked through these gates far too many times and not seen their team win. We need to change that together. We need to stick together and push together. We were all frustrated at the end because I thought we should have won the game with the chances we had.

"Fans come to the game and want to be entertained and we didn't give them that today. So no problem with them showing the frustration."

  8. 'Great credit to the players, they stuck at it'published at 20:55 BST 12 September

    FT: Tottenham 0-0 Everton

    Everton

Everton manager David Moyes, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We were gutsy. We had to be. Tottenham came after us in the first 15 minutes and nearly blew us away. Great credit to the players, they stuck at it. Quite a few blocks early doors and then we grew into the game a little bit. In the end it was a well-earned point for us."

On Everton's quick turnaround between fixtures: "By the way, I keep saying, the teams who are successful are the teams that have smaller squads. It doesn't mean you always have a big squad. We don't have European football. In the years gone by, squads won't have been as big as they are now and you had to cope with midweek game. We'll do it again and get them ready.

"We haven't put ourselves in a brilliant position with squad numbers at the moment. We have to try and find a way to fight against it and standing up to. I don't know how many games it is until January - maybe another 14 or 15 games - so there is a lot of football to played. There is injuries and suspensions so we have to make sure we have to keep everyone in the best shape we can."

  9. 'We don't have players with many goals in their careers'published at 20:54 BST 12 September

    FT: Tottenham 0-0 Everton

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Roberto de Zerbi, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We played 30 minutes very well. Then we lost some confidence because we didn't score. We lost energy because our physical condition is not good enough yet. We made many mistakes in the last third - we made wrong decisions in finishing and passing.

"But we started late and had many problems in the squad because of the World Cup players, injuries, transfer market where situations were too late not because of our responsibility. Now we are working. We started 10 days ago to work with all players.

"We have to improve. We have to analyse better the situations individually and collectively.

"Football is like this. You could have lost the game today. We have to respect that. We are sorry to the fans because they stayed very, very close to the players, especially in the first half. But when you have fans and a coach like me who are very passionate, you can be angry when you don't score or shoot when you have chance.

"We have not players with many, many goals in their careers but anyway we have great players. I love my group. I am realistic that if we extend the first 30 minutes to more time on the pitch, we are going to win many, many games."

On James Maddison: "He is a great player - maybe the biggest talent in the squad. But he is not in the right physical condition to play. Hopefully he can work with the more in a couple of weeks. He will be important like he has done in his career."

On the team's level currently: "I think the first 30 minutes have been the best this season. I think during that part of the game, we could have shot more times and created more chances. But I think it's only normal process."

    Great move by Arsenal!

It ends in a cushioned header across the face of goal by Bukayo Saka towards Kai Havertz, but Granit Xhaka flicks it away with his boot before the German can pounce.

That was a wonderful piece of defending by the captain.

Sunderland are just building up a bit of momentum here. They are so diligent in the way they press.

They've gone over half an hour without conceding, you can see in the last few minutes, they've just had that confidence and belief.
