The Austria international, 25, is keen on a move to Craven Cottage where officials are confident of completing a move before Tuesday's deadline.
It would be the third potential addition of the day, alongside two midfielders - Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Larsson and Real Madrid's Miguel Angel, who have both been completing medicals in London.
They are also looking at potentially adding a right-back before the deadline.
What is a transfer deal sheet?published at 20:03 BST
Clubs sometimes conclude deals at the last minute and it is not always easy for them to get everything completed and sent over by the deadline.
The deal sheet allows a club to confirm that a deal has been reached in order to allow for additional time to submit the remaining documentation.
For a deadline of 23:00, the deal sheet cannot be used before 21:00 and needs to arrive fully completed before the transfer window closes.
Once the sheet arrives, clubs have got another two hours, or until 01:00, in which to submit the full paperwork.

He has signed a four-year deal at the City Ground after a breakthrough season, which saw him make his Premier League debut and play seven times in the Europa League.
The 20-year-old made his senior debut against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup in 2024 and has made 12 appearances in all competitions.
Abbott, who has come through the club's academy, said: “I had memorable experiences last year that have given me even more hunger to improve and continue my development.
"This club has been my home for nearly 10 years, and I have a big sense of pride every time I pull on the shirt."

Image source, Getty ImagesChelsea have confirmed Dario Essugo will join Ligue 1 RC Strasbourg on loan and that Deivid Washington will join the French side on a permanent transfer.
Essugo joined Stamford Bridge in June 2025 for a £18.5m fee. Last season, the midfielder featured in five games for the Blues.
Washington joined Chelsea in August 2023 for a fee worth £17.2m, but has only featured in three senior games for the west London club.

The 25-year-old reunites with former Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo at the London Stadium.
The Hammers had been interested in Wolves' Ladislav Krejci but the Czechia international does not want to move to another Championship club, with Wolves unwilling to sell to a promotion rival.
Morato joined Forest from Benfica in 2024 and made 66 appearances in all competitions.
The defender was named in the team of the tournament for the 2025-26 Europa League and played in all but two games in the competition as Forest reached the last four.

BBC Sport Senior football correspondentAl-Diriyah are showing an interest in Aston Villa attacker Leon Bailey. The Jamaican international has been linked with a move away from Villa Park and the Saudi club will make a move for Bailey if he doesn’t leave before today’s deadline.
The transfer deadline in Saudi Arabia is on 6 September. Al-Diriyah’s sporting director is former Crystal Palace player Dougie Freedman.

The 19-year-old spent part of last season on loan at Ligue 1 side Marseille.
Nwaneri became the youngest player in Premier League history when he came off the bench for Arsenal aged 15 years and 181 days in 2022.

It follows the collapse of the 21-year-old's proposed move to Hull City over concerns about a switch to the East Yorkshire club.
However, with time running out before the transfer deadline, Bahoya is now considering a move to Yorkshire rivals Leeds.
Leeds had been interested in signing Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk, but the Ukraine international has instead opted to join Tottenham.

I think Liverpool have made great signings. What's crazy is that they still look light. I still think they need a DM, a new RB and another CB. But those things clearly aren't happening and they've spent plenty enough money. I think they'll just have to wait until next window.

So, another transfer window is ending without Liverpool buying a midfielder. Curtis Jones sold and Harvey Elliot loaned out. This has disturbing echoes of 2020 when we sold a centre-back and didn’t replace him - that didn’t end well.

The Seagulls want more than the £60m offered by Liverpool and it remains to be seen whether Andoni Iraola's side go back in for him.
Like the Gambian, Sarr is a right-sided winger and the Reds initially enquired about the Senegal international last week, but that was rebuffed by Crystal Palace.
Now that it looks like Cody Gakpo is staying on Merseyside, will Sarr be staying in London?

I’m not surprised at Liverpool’s lack of signings given the outlay of last seasons signings. We have still spent maybe £200M this summer? I think the players such as Wharton who fit Iraola’s system will be January or next summer buys - for a cheaper price when Palace get relegated.

The deal is an initial loan with an obligation to buy for £25.7m.
Leeds are now racing to complete the paperwork before the transfer deadline as they look to strengthen their options on the wing.
Bahoya's arrival would pave the way for Willy Gnonto to join Fiorentina.
Any deal for Gnonto must be completed by 19:00 BST to meet the Italian transfer deadline.

As a side bar to that Liverpool signing...
We are of course waiting for the transfer spending record to be broken. It's expected it will happen today with only £13m to go to pass the previous mark of pass £3.14bn from 12 months ago.
The signing of Lucca Brughmans for £30m will not contribute to that total as he is heading straight back out on loan, which means it will contribute to next summer's spending.

Football ReporterLiverpool have completed the signing of 18-year-old goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans from Belgian side Genk in a deal that could be worth up to £30m including add-ons.
Brughmans has agreed a six-year contract with Liverpool and will remain at Genk on loan this season before moving to Anfield ahead of the 2027-28 campaign.
The Belgian keeper, who is 6ft 7in, has started all four of Genk's games this season and has represented his country at youth level.
BBC Sport understands that there is an initial fee alongside follow up payments and the figure of around £30m is at the top of what can be achieved.
