  1. Ask Thommo anythingpublished at 16:21 BST

We're offering you the chance to put a question to Sportscene presenter Steven Thompson.

I'm not really sure why or what this is for, but I imagine that will become clearer later.

Anyway, click here to ask Thommo... something. The dafter the better. Just keep it clean.

    This is the real quiz.

I militated against "chips with salad cream" when I was first presented with the option - but, in the words of The Immortal Bard, "don't knock it 'til you've tried it"

As mentioned earlier, one of the ideas behind the window closing later was to give clubs a chance to get some players who were no longer required elsewhere.

Clearly, all those players are essential.

Is this going to be a permanent trend? Will deadline day continue to lose its mystique?

Or is this a one-off given the later ending, and will it one day be as dramatic as it used to be?

  4. 🚨 One hour to go 🚨published at 16:00 BST

It's been a barren day so far, but surely in the final 60 minutes of the window we'll have a flurry of activity. Surely?!

Must have some Belgian in me, as I'm partial to some mayo on a chip.

How about the age-old chip shop condiment chat?

  6. Campbell to Saints?published at 15:48 BST

Josh Campbell is edging close to a move to St Johnstone from Hibs.

There is still some work to be done, but it's getting closer.

It will be a season-long loan move.

Time for some Hibs and St Johnstone news...

  8. Who are the free agents?published at 15:40 BST

Our colleagues down south had a look at who remains a free agent after the majority of windows shut earlier this week.

While some of these names may be a little pricey for Scottish clubs, it's worth a look for the comic value if nothing else.

Paul Pogba to St Johnstone? Riyad Mahrez to Aberdeen? Philippe Coutinho to Killie?

The clock may be ticking, but I'm told Kilmarnock are "still trying" to do some business.

Nothing to say at the moment, but that 17:00 deadline is looming.

Let's get an update from Killie then, shall we? It's nothing too wild yet, mind you.

Indeed, it is correct, Marti, aye.

Why? Well, they've lost 18 of last season's squad.

    • 11 permanent departures
    • Seven loans ended

As wild as 'Falkirk sign 17 players' sounds, it's merely a consequence of how the market works these days.

They had such a good season last year, using the loan market to their advantage, and will be hoping for similar returns this campaign.

Falkirk have signed 17 players, is that right? Why?

To add on that point, there's a summit on that very issue - among others - tomorrow.

The Scottish Football Association is to hold a "critically important" summit around the future of the national game.

An email has been sent to all Scottish Professional Football League clubs to attend the forum, which will take place in St Andrews on 4 September.

The email, which has been seen by BBC Scotland, says the SFA will "discuss opportunities" around homegrown talent and hear from clubs who have "optimised their elite talent development model".

The memo also states the objective is to focus on the "current reality" facing Scottish football.

What’s the point of our academies?

As an Aberdeen fan, I feel zero connection to our revolving door of mercenaries and jobbers.

Collectively, our owners have given us all a football model none of us fans want.

  15. Eames joins Bairnspublished at 15:03 BST

Falkirk have announced the season-long loan signing of Owen Eames from Derby County.

The 19-year-old is Falkirk's 17th and, they say, final summer signing.

Owen joins from Derby County and made his professional debut for the club in 2026.

The midfielder has made five appearances for Derby in the Championship since his debut, and can play out wide and as a number 10.

Surely someone is going to announce a signing soon. Or a rumour will catch fire.
