Baby steps for Burnley, another point on the board, but they scored from their only shot on target and QPR will be kicking themselves for their profligacy.

It is just one win for Derby County this season as they conceded four goals for the second successive game.

The Rams are second from bottom and head coach John Eustace has told BBC Radio Derby:

"A really disappointing evening, we've had to mix things up before the game as we lost Ryan Hedges in training.

"We've looked for a couple of solutions - tactically I got the game wrong tonight.

"Seven points [from safety] at this stage is not great but not the end of the world - tonight's performance wasn't at the level, we're trying to mix the team up to try to find a solution while we're in this difficult situation.

"Throughout the season we haven't been good enough or strong enough as a group which we've got to fix for the game on Friday.

"Tactically I got it wrong tonight and I'll take full responsibility for the performance.

"I'm confident I can turn things around, I'm certainly not giving up - it's a tough period but when we get through it eventually it'll make us stronger again."

The way they finished last season everyone tipped Norwich to be there or there abouts. They didn't start the season well but they're picking up now.

They'll be pleased with their evening's work. They've got players to come back, but they'll be very pleased.

  4. 'Disappointed not to win after first half display'published at 22:06 GMT 3 November

    FT: West Brom 1-1 Southampton

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom midfielder Jayson Molumby speaking to Sky Sports:

"We had a lot of control in the first half. We outplayed them in the first half. And then second half, we didn't manage the start of it well.

"Conceding early gave them momentum so we're disappointed with that."

On Southampton's strong reaction in the second half: "We knew they would come out, they're a top team.

"We're disappointed we didn't manage the key moments in the second half I don't feel and we're disappointed not to get a win after the first half."

Look at it. Just look at it.

Six points between the top 10.

Birmingham second! Stoke third! Sheffield United and Portsmouth level on points with West Ham!

Oh, this season is going to be fun.

Burnley picked up another point but their position actually worsened as Watford picked up a win and free-falling Charlton are now the side in the Clarets' sights, four points ahead.

Derby and Preston need something to change, quickly, or they might find themselves cut adrift.

Over to you Middlesbrough, Wolves and West Ham tomorrow night then.

Looks like the writing is on the wall for Eustace at Derby. Massively hamstrung by the failed summer takeover and mounting injuries, but we’ve lost convincingly too often this season for a squad of this quality. Looks like the players don’t want it and that’s the biggest worry!

I think this is a fair result.

Overall it was a good football game. West Brom dominated the first half and we dominated in the second but we just couldn't get it in and that's the way it goes sometimes.

It's a good point away from home.

What a finish at Fratton Park!

Swansea, who could have gone top with a win, fought back from 1-0 down to level with a late Vipotnik penalty and then went for the win.

Former Southampton striker Ross Stewart missed a glorious chance with barely a minute left, and the visitors were made to rue that miss as two Pompey goals in stoppage time sealed a brilliant win for the home side.

A second for Terry Devlin was then followed by Tom Waddington's strike with the last kick of the game.

Tempers boiled over after the full-time whistle with members of both team's coaching staff involved in a big confrontation in the centre circle.

Swansea drop out of the automatic promotion places, while the hosts are now outside of the play-off places on goal difference alone.

Joe Taylor scored a stunning volley against his former club to ensure a share of the spoils for League One leaders Huddersfield against Luton.

Jordan Clark had put the Hatters ahead just before the break but Taylor thrashed home just after it to take the Terriers three points clear of Stockport, with Luton up to third, two points behind their fellow Hatters.

Wigan climbed up a place to 21st but remain bang in trouble after a goalless draw at home to Mansfield, who are up to 11th.

In League Two, Ollie Norburn secured the points for Oldham at Northampton with a thumping finish for his first goal for the club which hauled the Latics up to 18th, leapfrogging the Cobblers who remain two points above the relegation zone.

An excellent game between two of the top sides in the Championship ends all square.

West Brom were completely dominant in the first half but only had Isaac Price's penalty to show for it at the halfway stage.

Southampton were much-improved after the break and struck back through Samuel Edozie, who slammed home from close range.

Lewis Dobbin went clean through for Saints towards the end but was denied by Max O'Leary before Tammer Bany struck the post late on for Albion following a swift counter-attack.

    And breathe.

Very comfortable for Birmingham who were 3-0 up at the break and go second in the table thanks to goals from Alex Cochrane, Max Bird and Jay Stansfield.

Camiel Neghli hit the crossbar in the second period for Millwall but there was no coming back from that early salvo from the home side.

Carlos Vicente struck a post late on for Blues who made it 10 games unbeaten at home as well as winning three in a row at home in the Championship without conceding a goal for the first time since 2009.

  18. FOUR ADDED MINUTESpublished at 21:50 GMT 3 November

Four minutes tacked onto the end of a thrilling encounter.

Lata drama incoming? A winner could be huge for either side.

  19. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:49 GMT 3 November

    West Brom 1-1 Southampton

    My word.

West Brom spring a rapid counter attack as Ousmane Diakite makes an excellent driving run the whole length of the pitch.

He tees up Tammer Bany to his left but Banner's effort zips just wide via the outside of the near post.

Have we said this yet? What a game.
