  1. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 18:03 BST 8 August

    Rotherham 0-2 West Brom

Rotherham cannot contain their opponents at all at the moment.

More good play from Jimmy-May Morgan, this time in the left channel for West Brom. He plays the ball back to Isaac Price and Aune Heggebo taps the ball into an unguarded net but the goal is correctly ruled out for offside.

  2. Postpublished at 18:00 BST 8 August

    Colchester 0-0 Southampton

Kuryu Matsuki blasts onto the ball and his strike is blistering but misses the target.

He looks disappointed down on the grass. He's the only Southampton player to have taken a chance at goal so far and he's not managed to test the goalkeeper.

  3. 'No team will do this in League Two'published at 17:58 BST 8 August

    Rotherham 0-2 West Brom

    Ronnie Moore
Ex-Rotherham manager on BBC Radio Sheffield

No team is going to come and do this against Rotherham in League Two. Well, you would hope not.

If they do we might be in big trouble this season.

  4. goal

GOAL: Cheltenham 0-2 Charltonpublished at 17:57 BST 8 August

    Sonny Carey (24 mins)

    One becomes two for Charlton!

The Addicks are all over their opponents and new boy Nathaniel Chalobah finds Sonny Carey who slips the ball into the bottom corner.

The Championship side showing their class against their League Two hosts.

  5. 'Peretz has prevented Colchester from scoring'published at 17:56 BST 8 August

    Colchester 0-0 Southampton

    David Gregory
    Ex-Colchester midfielder on BBC Essex

No surprise there that two or three Southampton defenders gave Daniel Peretz a high five for his defensive and goalkeeping skills there.

On two or three occasions he's prevented Colchester United from scoring.

  6. goal

GOAL: Rotherham 0-2 West Brompublished at 17:55 BST 8 August

    Harry Whitwell (24 mins)

    Albion in cruise control.

A ball is slipped into Harry Whitwell who lets the ball run past him for Jimmy-Jay Morgan.

Morgan's strike is well saved but Whitwell is on hand to bury the rebound with his left foot.

A long way back for the home side now.

  7. Postpublished at 17:54 BST 8 August

    Colchester 0-0 Southampton

Great block from the Saints to take the pace off Ellis Iandolo's shot at goal and divert it away.

This match has been such an entertaining watch so far. Colchester are really up for this.

  8. Postpublished at 17:53 BST 8 August

    Rotherham 0-1 West Brom

    Lee Camp
Former West Bromwich Albion and Rotherham goalkeeper on BBC Radio WM

This is the point when really good players begin to turn the screw, and really start to play through their opponent.

I am not criticising West Brom, but they need to make sure they don't switch off, and get bored by being in control.

  9. goal

GOAL: Cheltenham 0-1 Charltonpublished at 17:52 BST 8 August

    Matty Godden (22 mins)

What an excellent finish and a superb start to the season for Matty Godden!

Charlton rob the ball high up the pitch and Sonny Carey slips in Godden who finds the back of the net via the far post with a lovely curling effort.

It may have got a slight nick but Godden won't care. 1-0!

  10. TRIPLE SAVE!published at 17:51 BST 8 August

    Colchester 0-0 Southampton

    WOW!

Keeper Daniel Peretz comes to Southampton's aid not once but THREE times to prevent Colchester attempts from making it through to goal in a moment of pure madness.

The U's are looking genuinely dangerous and Southampton aren't doing much wrong either.

  11. 'Colchester get away with one'published at 17:49 BST 8 August

    Colchester 0-0 Southampton

    Angus Paterson
    BBC Essex commentator

Colchester's shape is proving hard for Southampton as a lock to pick.

Saints have the possession gradually, coming into Colchester's half and probably got away with one after that Ben Brereton Diaz chance.

  12. 'Bruce won't be happy'published at 17:49 BST 8 August

    Rotherham 0-1 West Brom

    Ronnie Moore
Ex-Rotherham manager on BBC Radio Sheffield

Rotherham need to keep hold of the ball when they get it, and just try and enjoy having possession.

Alex Bruce won't be happy, they can't get a kick at the moment.

  13. CLOSE!published at 17:49 BST 8 August

    Rotherham 0-1 West Brom

First opening for the home side side as winger Jili Buyabu flashes the ball across the face of the goal.

Neither a cross, nor a shot really, and Paul Mullin cannot get a touch on the end of it to divert the ball home.

  14. Postpublished at 17:49 BST 8 August

    Colchester 0-0 Southampton

Oo-er. There was a sharp intake of breath as Bradley Ihionvien lets off a venomous strike.

It's more impact for Daniel Peretz to take than the first but once more it's straight at the Saints 'keeper.

  15. Postpublished at 17:47 BST 8 August

    Colchester 0-0 Southampton

Another great ball from Leo Scienza but again, Ben Brereton Diaz isn't quick enough to react and it grazes just above his head.

  16. Postpublished at 17:47 BST 8 August

    Cheltenham 0-0 Charlton

Charlton get down the right hand side on the counter attack but Tyreece Campbell's ball into the middle is over hit.

The visitors, it should be noted, are in a smart looking Fiorentina-like all purple away kit tonight. Think it looks quite nice.

  17. Postpublished at 17:45 BST 8 August

    Colchester 0-0 Southampton

Southampton have settled now and it's become the game many would have expected when the fixture was announced.

A really juicy ball comes from Leo Scienza into the box but Ben Brereton Diaz is just a step behind.

  18. CLOSE!published at 17:43 BST 8 August

    Rotherham 0-1 West Brom

    Albion are purring.

First, Jimmy-Jay Morgan is played in again but he delays his effort which is blocked before the ball is recycled and Harry Whitwell has a strike from distance but it is comfortably held by Ted Cann.

  19. 'Rotherham need to stem the flow'published at 17:43 BST 8 August

    Rotherham 0-1 West Brom

    Andy Giddings
    BBC Radio Sheffield commentator

The coaching staff will be concerned here, it is the first game of the season, and they haven't been able to get hold of the ball.

Rotherham need to stem the flow!

  20. Postpublished at 17:41 BST 8 August

    Colchester 0-0 Southampton

This is some great viewing for the home fans.

The ball is flowing around the final third until it lands at Bradley Ihionvien's feet. He shoots and it goes past the defenders in the box but is straight into the arms of Saints keeper Daniel Peretz.
