  1. goal

GOAL - Man City 0-1 PSG

    Desire Doue

    The European champions are ahead!

It's a really good strike from Desire Doue after PSG build from back to front but should Gianluigi Donnarumma be beaten from there?

He will be disappointed not to save that at his near post I reckon.

  2. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Man City 0-0 PSG

The corner is right on top of goalkeeper Matvey Safonov and all he can do is punch it onto his own crossbar. It drops for Antoine Semenyo but he blasts his shot over the bar.

    Should score.

  3. Aston Villa 1-0 Fenerbahce

Fener push for an immediate equaliser but Oguz Aydin's effort goes wide via Victor Lindelof's head. Corner.

  4. Roma 0-0 Real Madrid

There hasn't been too much to report from the Stadio Olimpico so far, but the Roma supporters have just unveiled a huge banner dedicated to Jose Mourinho. The banner showed the 63-year-old lifting the Conference League trophy during his time as manager of the Italian club in 2022.

    Nice touch, all.

  5. Aston Villa 1-0 Fenerbahce

Johan Manzambi, 21, is the first player to make his Champions League debut on his birthday while playing for an English club.

  6. 'Cherki's asking for VAR'

    Man City 0-0 PSG

    Chris Sutton
Former Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Etihad Stadium

Rayan Cherki is asking for VAR to check it. Cherki gets there first but Marquinhos gets the ball with the sole of his right boot.

  7. Man City 0-0 PSG

The VAR did have a look at that but no penalty is given.

Instead City have a free-kick wide on the left. It's whipped in by Enzo Fernandez and results in a corner for the hosts.

  8. Man City 0-0 PSG

Manchester City want a penalty. Rayan Cherki thinks Marquinhos has fouled him in the box.

The referee is having none of it but the Frenchman signals that he wants VAR to have a look at it.

  9. goal

GOAL - Aston Villa 1-0 Fenerbahce

    Johan Manzambi (12 mins)

    The birthday boy bags!

Matteo Guendouzi's header lands straight to Johan Manzambi, who takes a touch before blasting in a shot. It takes a huge deflected off Milan Skriniar and wrongfoots Ederson for 1-0.

  10. Man City 0-0 PSG

A loose pass from Antoine Semenyo almost lands Manchester City in bother but Ruben Dias tidies things up.

It comes back to Warren Zaire-Emery, who is in acres of space, and his shot is saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma.

  11. Man City 0-0 PSG

Manchester City look to get Jeremy Doku on the ball and that is not a bad tactic after his weekend exploits.

PSG are doubling up on him, though, and Achraf Hakimi wins the ball back.

  12. Aston Villa 0-0 Fenerbahce

Villa midfielder Johan Manzambi has a shot in the box but it's deflected and then runs through to Ederson.

Ex-Manchester City keeper Ederson has failed to keep a clean sheet in any of his last seven appearances against Aston Villa.

  13. Pep's low profile

    Man City 0-0 PSG

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Etihad Stadium

Pep Guardiola, as expected, is at Etihad Stadium - and is keeping it low profile wearing a cap and seated behind Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak and chief executive Ferran Soriano.

  14. Aston Villa 0-0 Fenerbahce

Ibrahim Mbaye has a crack from outside the box for Villa - but it's saved by Ederson.

Senegal international Mbaye, 18, is the youngest African player to start a Champions League match for a Premier League side since Gaël Kakuta for Chelsea in December 2009.

  15. Guardiola watches on for the first time

  16. Aston Villa 0-0 Fenerbahce

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

John McGinn looks up for it tonight already.

  17. Aston Villa 0-0 Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce left-back Archie Brown goes down in the box - but doesn't really shout for a penalty - and doesn't get one. Matty Cash got a touch on the ball.

Brown is back in his home city of Birmingham today.

  18. 'PSG press ferociously'

    Man City 0-0 PSG

    Chris Sutton
Former Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Etihad Stadium

We know that PSG will press ferociously and Gianluigi Donnarumma needs to be on point with his passing.

  19. Aston Villa 0-0 Fenerbahce

Johan Manzambi, 21 today, wins Villa the first corner of the game off ex-Wolves man Nelson Semedo.

And it's another chance. John McGinn swings the corner in, Pau Torres heads it back across and Ross Barkley nods over from 12 yards.

  20. Man City 0-0 PSG

Desire Doue is released down the left-hand side but it goes out for a goal-kick.

Almost a heart-in-mouth moment as Gianluigi Donnarumma's pass out from the back to Marc Guehi is a little wobbly.
