Summary

  • Updates from nine Champions League matches

  1. The game is 'crying out' for Odegaardpublished at 21:18 BST

    Arsenal 0-0 Lille

    Steven Gerrard
Former England and Liverpool captain on TNT Sports

I think the game is crying out for Martin Odegaard. Arsenal have Lille pinned, moving the ball from side to side, but they need someone with that bit of magic, someone who is going to unlock the door.

  2. Postpublished at 21:18 BST

    Arsenal 0-0 Lille

    Alex Howell
BBC Sport Arsenal reporter at Emirates Stadium

A very short penalty check by the VAR after Bruno Guimaraes felt he was taken down in the area.

It lifts the crowd though and maybe that will help the players.

  3. Postpublished at 21:18 BST

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Manchester United

    Elizabeth Conway
BBC Sport Spanish football reporter at Metropolitano Stadium

Bruno Fernandes has his head in his hands. That was agonisingly close for United.

  4. 'It was beautiful'published at 21:18 BST

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Manchester United

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Absolute quality from Barrios to Alvarez. It's a superb piece of play down on this right side.

That would have been one of the goals of the season, it was beautiful from Atletico Madrid.

  5. CLOSE!published at 21:18 BST

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Manchester United

    So close for Manchester United!

Youri Tielemans plays a great ball to Bruno Fernandes in space, he sees Jan Oblak coming off his line then hesitating so he goes for the lob, but the ball bounces just wide.

  6. Postpublished at 21:18 BST

    Arsenal 0-0 Lille

Bruno Guimaraes wants a penalty and VAR have seen enough in this to have a look themselves.

It's only a brief check, though, as they agree with the on-field decision.

  7. Lamine Yamal sets up Gordon goalpublished at 21:17 BST

    Galatasaray 1-3 Barcelona

That is silly, silly stuff from Lamine Yamal. Ridiculously good.

It's unbelievable skill from the teenager to then find Anthony Gordon in the box, who finds the back of the net on his first Champions League start for Barcelona.

  8. Postpublished at 21:17 BST

    Arsenal 0-0 Lille

Lille take too long over a throw in so Arsenal regain the ball.

The French side would be happy with a point here you would imagine. They've been pushing the limit with the clock for most of the night.

  9. Postpublished at 21:16 BST

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Manchester United

    Elizabeth Conway
BBC Sport Spanish football reporter at Metropolitano Stadium

What a chance for Julian Alvarez. Atleti supporters show their appreciation for the Argentine who's trying to get them back on side after making it clear in the summer he wanted to leave for Barcelona.

  10. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:14 BST

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Manchester United

Just like that Atletico almost get a second!

Julian Alvarez is picked out by a brilliant pass from Pablo Barrios, Alvarez shoots first time and his volley smacks against the post.

  11. Kane scores for Bayernpublished at 21:14 BST

    Viking 2-1 Bayern Munich

Bayern are back in it and it's that man Harry Kane from the spot.

Kane has now scored in nine games on the spin in the Champions League.

    More to come tonight?

Dare I say Carrick needs to be brave and take off Fernandes? Yet another poor showing from Bruno. I think it's time to take him out of the firing line.

  13. Barca come from behind to lead in Turkeypublished at 21:12 BST

    Galatasaray 1-2 Barcelona

This time Lamine Yamal gets his assist.

He works the space for a cross and he expertly picks out the head of Fermin Lopez to give Barcelona the lead in Turkey.

  14. Postpublished at 21:12 BST

    Arsenal 0-0 Lille

    Alex Howell
BBC Sport Arsenal reporter at Emirates Stadium

A mixed reception for former Arsenal player Olivier Giroud as he goes out to warm-up for the first time in the second half.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:11 BST

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Manchester United

Good tracking back by Marcus Rashford but he just mistimes his lunge in on Giuliano Simeone and is booked for a foul.

  16. Postpublished at 21:11 BST

    Arsenal 0-0 Lille

It has been more than 30 minutes since Lille last attempted a shot in this game.

Former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has been sent out to warm up.

  17. Postpublished at 21:11 BST

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Manchester United

    Elizabeth Conway
BBC Sport Spanish football reporter at Metropolitano Stadium

That is a better start by United. Rashford is already finding more width which will help to open up play.

  18. Postpublished at 21:08 BST

    Galatasaray 1-1 Barcelona

That is so, so good from Lamine Yamal to work a yard of space for the cross and he finds Anthony Gordon at the far post with a stunning outside of the foot ball but the England international slices his finish.

    Should score really.

  19. There are some 'positives' for Man Utdpublished at 21:06 BST

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Manchester United

    Wayne Rooney
Former England striker on Amazon Prime

I think that there are some positive sides to the game. [Man United] have struggled a bit with balls in behind, they could be a bit more compact to stop that and the runners.

I think Baleba has come in and done really well. Tielemans has gone into some really good positions, and they have created some really good chances

  20. Postpublished at 21:06 BST

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Manchester United

Which they do indeed manage, and have a decent attack that ends with Bruno Fernandes' ball across the face of goal being pounced on by Jan Oblak.
