Good question from Thierry Henry: "This is your third one but is it the one you wanted tonight..."

Lamine Yamal is also a contender for the Ballon d'Or but he wins this award for the third year in a row.

I thought Lamine was a little underwhelming this year. Still exciting, still a jaw-dropping talent, but his best days are to come. Give the men’s award to a man at the top of his game. Lamine will be a winner one day, but he hasn’t earned it yet!

We're kicking things off at the London Palladium with a performance by singer-songwriter Jorja Smith.
Oh here we go!
The ceremony is finally under way, 45 minutes after it was scheduled to start.
Barcelona
Barcelona's Caroline Graham Hansen, who is also one of the nominees for the women's Ballon d'Or, said she has been "ready for hours" but the London traffic has delayed her and others.
Hansen added: "Just enjoy the night - the biggest celebration of football. I am just enjoying the moment. We're all late - traffic!"
A fairly bold fashion statement from Lamine Yamal.
However, it is nice to see the 19-year-old arrive on the red carpet alongside his family.
The 19-year-old has posed for pictures alongside his mother, Sheila Ebana and partner, Ines Garcia.

Image source, PA MediaYep, that traffic has led to a further delay to this ceremony.
There was a little countdown on the TV coverage a few minutes ago saying that the ceremony should start immintenly, but still we wait.
Let's have some more pictures of the arrivals then.
Barcelona
Image source, Getty ImagesThe 2024 Ballon d'Or winner and former Manchester City midfielder Rodri, speaking to DAZN: "London - busy with the traffic! Of course, great memories always two years ago.
"I came to enjoy this ceremony in London and am really happy to be here again.
"Amazing for me [to be in the top 10]. That moment I had, the injury, to rise up against the level to be here is incredible."
Well, the odds are heavily stacked towards a Spanish head coach winning the coach of the year award as only Vincent Kompany is the non-Spaniard among the nominees.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta told Guillem Balague that it was a "special" night in London, whilst his wife, Lorena Bernal said she would "find a place" if Arteta wins the award.
Bernal added: "I'm sure the kids would want it in their bedroom."
Image source, PA MediaEngland and Arsenal forward Alessia Russo, speaking to DAZN: "Incredible, so nice to have it in London.
"To host an awards like this is really cool. I have come to enjoy the night.
"It is really nice to be here with Mariona [Caldentey] and the Arsenal contingency.
"I would love to see Kane take it. I think he's unbelievable. I think he has been brilliant for England and Bayern."
Lamine Yamal has arrived and is wearing something... interesting. It basically looks like he's got a sea urchin attached to his suit.
All being well we should be on the verge of the ceremony starting.

Kane can’t win tonight. The two years Thierry Henry finished second despite being the best player in the world by a mile. We were told it was because he hadn’t won either the Champions League or the World Cup. Kane has won the Bundesliga and finished 3rd in the World Cup...
Jack, Bromley
Kvaratskhelia is hampered by being from a nation that won't compete at World Cups. He's a much better footballer than Harry Kane, he's so much more entertaining to watch, and actually steps up in big games. If Kane wins it just for his goals, it'll be utterly ridiculous.

"Grateful to all the coaches that work with me, all the players they work with me.
"Aston Villa is where I am feeling now to feel so comfortable and improving in my career as a coach."

I love Kane, he's absolute quality, but Mbappe was the top scorer in the World Cup, and he scored goals for fun in the Spanish league. Kane did well in Germany, but Bayern win games so easily in that league, it's almost a given that Kane would be that prolific.

Image source, Getty ImagesEngland and Bayern Munich's Harry Kane, speaking to DAZN: "A little nervous, I am not going to lie. Different from playing a match - it is out of my control.
"It is a special occasion, trying to take it all in and trying to enjoy it. It will be an incredibly proud moment if I do achieve it.
"It was my best season for sure. I won three trophies with Bayern Munich. Close [to reaching] the final of the Champions League and semi-final of the World Cup.
"If I had won those two things it would have been guaranteed for sure."
