    Celtic 0-0 Besiktas

There are signs Besiktas are starting to grab hold of this game as the home fans become restless.

  2. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:33 GMT

    Celtic 0-0 Besiktas

Leandro Trossard leathers a 20-yard strike towards the top-left corner and Sam Johnstone makes an excellent stop on to the crossbar.

The flag goes up anyway, but that was some effort and some save.

Not sure what Liam Scales is up to there. He wins the ball then loses it almost instantly in his own box.

He's lucky James Forrest is there clear the resulting cross across the face of the goal.

Kasper Hogh was absolutely screaming for that cross to come in earlier from Sebastian Tounekti.

He is just desperate to attack the ball. Better hold-up play from the big man.

Highlight of this game so far is the top-tier booing of former Rangers man Vaclav Cerny.

Does anyone do it better than Scottish fans?

This tippy-tappy football within the Celtic six-yard box will not do, inviting all sorts of trouble

    John

Celtic have made changes, I know, but they are being given a footballing lesson thus far - will need to raise their game, and soon, or they'll struggle to get anything from the game.

Junior Olaitan attempts a wild one and it's... wild.

Sliced horribly wide of the Celtic goal.

Not been up to much, this.

  10. Postpublished at 20:21 GMT

    Celtic 0-0 Besiktas

Celtic deal with a deep free-kick from Besiktas, who really haven't threatened. Was expecting more, tbh.

Thought a goal had gone in there. Nope. It was Liam Scales slide tackling Vaclav Cerny.

Martin O'Neill will be happy with the energy his team have shown with and without the ball.

  13. Postpublished at 20:16 GMT

    Celtic 0-0 Besiktas

Jordan Lotomba, on his first Celtic start, attempts to motor up the right but takes a poor touch. He gets away with it.

There's then a wee stepover and he's quickly bodied off the ball.

Still waiting for our first shot on target as a harmless cross is claimed by Sam Johnstone in the Celtic goal.

Two years ago today, Celtic Park was in spine-tingling mode as Brendan Rodgers' side dismantled RB Leipzig 3-1 in the Champions League.

The atmosphere is so far off that tonight - apart from the rowdy Besiktas fans. Can the team rouse the supporters?

  16. CLOSE!published at 20:11 GMT

    Celtic 0-0 Besiktas

Benjamin Nygren has the first chance of the game but plants a shot with his weak foot wide of the top-right corner.

If that's on his left that's probably a different story.

  17. 'Celtic must win'published at 20:08 GMT

    Celtic 0-0 Besiktas

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on BBC Sportsound

Celtic have to win. They have to find a way to win this game. It hasn't been good enough so far in the Europa League. They can still potentially reach the play-off round if they win tonight - but they must win.

  18. Postpublished at 20:07 GMT

James Forrest wraps a pass towards Kasper Hogh, but the striker is on his heels. Looks a bit rusty, Celtic's record signing.

Without even looking, you know when Vaclav Cerny is on the ball.

The former Rangers winger is getting a lovely welcome...
