Millwall fought back from 2-0 down at half-time to snatch a draw with Lincoln in the Championship at lunchtime.

Lions head coach Alex Neil told BBC Radio London:

"It's as poor as we've been in the first half since I came here.

"We had no fighting spirit in the first half - we didn't do anything we normally do well.

"Two questions get asked by us at the break and we reacted better - it certainly wasn't a great performance but we scored two goals and didn't lose the game."

Lincoln City missed out on a fourth away win of the season in the Championship as they let slip a 2-0 lead to draw with Millwall.

The Imps also had defender Deji Elerewe sent-off late one, their third red card in the past two games.

Head coach Chris Cohen spoke to BBC Radio Lincolnshire:

"I'm gutted for the fans who came all the way to South London - the performance was excellent.

"Our structure was excellent and the way the players implemented the gameplan at the end of a tough week physically but you can never be satisfied when you go 2-0 up and don't win the game.

"The way the boys defended with 10 men was exceptional."

Charlton boss Nathan Jones reacts to the 2-0 defeat at Watford.

Charlton manager Nathan Jones told BBC Radio London:

"We've been a mile off. We probably had seven or eight who didn't come out with any real credit.

"We didn't pass the ball well, we didn't defend well, and had three clear-cut chances. It's always going to be important to take the first chance because of the predicament they [Watford] have been in.

"We had the best chances of the game in the first half, and then had another and didn't take them.

"Then we were really poor on transitional play. [The first goal] was a catastrophic goal from our point of view. Teams are not having to do a hell of a lot to score against us.

"We're not defending our box well enough, we're not doing the basics. We've broken the record at this club for clean sheets, and we're not looking like that now."

Alessio Dionisi reacts after Watford beat Charlton Athletic 2-0 in the Championship.

Watford head coach Alessio Dionisi told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"I'm very happy, because it wasn't easy today, and it wasn't easy this week.

"We believe in this team because we stay together and work together, but football is difficult when negative results arrive. Today the result is right.

"After 1-0, the mentality changed and we had a lot of positive situations."

On change to three at the back: "We needed to be aggressive in the middle. At the moment we have three midfielders ready [fit], so at the moment having another centre-back is best."

    Cardiff City

    Media caption,

Cardiff manager Brian Barry-Murphy's assessment after their 2-2 draw at Middlesbrough.

Cardiff City head coach brian Barry-Murphy told BBC Sport Wales:

"With the scoreline as it was at half-time we are disappointed not to win, but the players gave absolutely everything for our supporters and in the end we just couldn't win.

"We had to survive at the end because the red card made it difficult. Against an opponent of this calibre in this stadium we knew it was going to be tough but the players put their bodies on the line and that's all we can ask.

"Our intention was to start in the same manner as against Watford and we looked dangerous.

"At half-time the intention was to step forward and push on again, but it wasn't possible; they came into the game and scored two brilliant goals themselves. It would be quite easy to feel sorry for ourselves, but we didn't and showed great resilience and toughness to get a great result."

  6. 'We should defend better' - Hellbergpublished at 17:24 BST 17 October

    Middlesbrough

    Media caption,

Kim Hellberg spoke to Mark Drury following Middlesbrough's 2-2 draw with Cardiff City.

Middlesbrough head coach Kim hellberg told BBC Tees:

"It's difficult to process. If you look at both halves, I think we were quite good in both halves.

"The difference in the first half is they scored two good goals where we should defend better and we were a little bit sloppy and not clinical enough. In the first-half we had so many chances to create more.

"In the second half we got a little bit better, got goals with our chances and overall we had around 40 shots.

"We had to defend goals better - that's a main thing that makes me disappointed. It was individual errors from some players in terms of things they always do so well. I understand why, because it's been three tough games in a short amount of time.

"The balance was (to rest Lankshear). You try as a coach to find the right way of when to give opportunities. It's not always about resting for the legs, it could be for the head, or as a coach a responsibility to create depth. We have enough players to do that."

EFL defender on BBC Radio London

West Ham came through a really tough test.

It was an impressive performance and sometimes you need to put your foot down and they played some really complimentary football today.

The back five were good but they wasted some chances as well.

The subs from Nuno changed the game and really saw it out for West Ham. Austbo coming on was an inspired substitution.

    Best league in the world.

Three points separates the top five and there's just six from Swansea, in first, to QPR in ninth.

The Swans had their wings clipped by West Ham, who rode their luck and picked up the kind of win that titles are built on.

Middlesbrough missed the chance to go top as they were held by Cardiff in a brilliant early game and Birmingham and West Brom are hot on their heels after huge wins against QPR and Blackburn respectively.

Stoke are back into the top-six while Southampton lost ground after a home stalemate with Bolton.

At the bottom Preston look bang in trouble after a ninth defeat in 11 games and Derby's home woes continued. Burnley are back into the drop-zone after Watford's much-needed lunchtime win while Norwich are dropping like a stone after six straight defeats, five of them in the league.

Sheffield United, Portsmouth and Wrexham will be looking up, rather than over their shoulder, this weekend.

Felix Horn Myhre was the Albion hero in stoppage time, after Isaac Price and Barney Stewart had cancelled out Andri Gudjohnsen's early brace.

Tony Mowbray's return to The Hawthorns looked as though it would go according to plan for Blackburn, until the dramatic reverse late in the day.
