Under-fire Watford boss Alessio Dionisi has rung the changes for his side's crucial meeting with Charlton Athletic at Vicarage Road this lunch-time.

The Hornets have conceded nine goals in their previous two games, including five at Cardiff in the week and, as a result of that, Dionisi has introduced five new faces to his starting XI.

Marc Bola, Krepin Diatta, Iker Bravo, Soumaila Coulibaly and Luca Kjerrumgaard all start, while Othmane Maamma, Martin Payero, Stephy Mavididi and Jordan Zemura are among the substitutes.

Charlton boss Nathan Jones makes a single change to the side who grabbed a dramatic point at Burnley on Tuesday - late scorer Ivan Mesik is rewarded with a start in place of the benched Amari'i Bell.

  5. Hornets in dire need of positive result against tricky Charltonpublished at 12:23 BST 17 October

Watford head coach Alessio Dionisi wants actions rather than words as pressure mounts.

Things could not have gone much worse for Watford, since the resumption of domestic action following the international break.

Alessio Dionisi has seen his side ship nine goals in just two matches - they were hit for four at Vicarage Road a week ago by Burnley, who until that meeting were yet to win a league game.

The Hornets then took another hammering against Cardiff in the Welsh capital in the week, conceding five more. The heavy consecutive defeats have mounted the pressure on manager Dionisi and the club have received plenty of back-lash from a fed-up fan-base.

Needing a positive result, one side who could prove tricky opponents are today's visitors Charlton; they claimed a point when scoring late to draw 2-2 against Burnley at Turf Moor in the week.

The Addicks are actually seven league matches without a win themselves, but they have drawn five of those and head to Hertfordshire buoyed by their midweek point.

Kim Hellberg has shuffled his pack, making three changes in attack from the Boro XI which won at Stoke on Tuesday night.

Riley McGree, Tommy Conway and Kyle Joseph come in with Seb Berhalter, Jeremy Sarmiento and leading scorer Will Lankshear all dropping to the bench.

Brian Barry-Murphy has made two changes to the Bluebirds side which thumped Watford 5-1 on the same evening, both in defence.

Krystian Bielik returns after two games out and Ronan Kpakio is handed a start with Perry Ng absent and Dylan Lawlor out with a hamstring injury picked up inside half an hour on Tuesday.

Middlesbrough Head Coach Kim Hellberg spoke to Paul Addison ahead of the visit of Cardiff.

Middlesbrough will seek to go top of the Championship, for a few hours at least, when they welcome Cardiff to the Riverside in a tasty lunchtime kick-off.

After back-to-back wins against Wolves and dramatically at Stoke on Tuesday Boro are second, two points behind Swansea, who face third-placed West Ham later, and Kim Hellberg has noticed they have actually had a tough start.

Hellberg's men have taken 21 points from their past 10 games against Cardiff, losing only once, and in forward Will Lankshear have one of just two players into double-figures for the season in England's top-four tiers. The other is Erling Haaland.

The Bluebirds are 19th, two points above the drop zone, despite thumping Watford 5-1 at home on Tuesday, but have lost their past four games on the road and taken a single point from their past five visits to Teesside.

Millwall make one change from the side beaten at home by Swansea in midweek with Tristan Crama making his first start of the season in place of Jordi Osei-Tutu, who is on the bench.

Romain Esse is also fit enough take a place among the substitutes having been out since 12 September but winger Yanis Issoufou has picked-up an injury and is absent.

Tom Hamer and Conor McGrandles are both suspended for Lincoln after being sent-off against West Ham United on Wednesday while Ben House has been taken ill overnight and misses out.

Callum Elder, Daniel Oyegoke and Chiedozie Ogbene drop to the bench and into the side come Adam Reach, Andrei Coubis, Reeco Hackett, Dom Jefferies, Rob Street and midfielder Yunus Konak who makes his first league start since joining on loan from Brentford.

    Millwall v Lincoln (12:30 BST)

Head Coach Chris Cohen on the 6-0 defeat and the weekend match at The New Den

Lincoln's much-heralded return to the second tier of English football after 65 years away was full of early lessons with defeats by Middlesbrough and Portsmouth but, followed by a five-game unbeaten run.

The harsh realities of Championship life have returned with a three-match losing streak, culminating in Wednesday's 6-0 thrashing at home by West Ham United, albeit the Imps were down to nine men inside 25 minutes.

"In a weird way I think our boys will come out a little bit stronger from going to the dark moments and the dark place they've had to when being two men down against that quality," said head coach Tom Shaw.

"In the unique situation, I don't think it affects stuff and it won't define anything."

The strength of mind in the Lincoln squad can expect to be fully tested in South London today with a wounded Millwall, despite a midweek defeat by leaders Swansea, looking good for another crack at the play-offs.

The injuries have been stacking-up for the Lions with the impressive Tairyk Arconte and winger Yanis Issoufou added to the list this week.

"It's no surprise when we do get opportunities (we don't take them) because we've got three centre-forwards unavailable - it's just frustrating right now," said head coach Alex Neil.

Lincoln will hope Millwall do not take out their frustration on them today.

What a division. Five points separate 3rd to 13th and every one of the 24 teams could be in a different position come tea-time.

Wolves snuck back into the top six last night with their 2-1 win at Burnley but they could see the gap to the automatic promotion places extended over the coming hours.

Middlesbrough can go top with a lunchtime win at home to Cardiff while Swansea and West Ham face-off at 15:00 BST in a mouthwatering clash while QPR head to Birmingham at the same time.

The battle at the bottom looks just as interesting and last night's vanquished Clarets could find themselves back in the bottom two, depending on results elsewhere at lunchtime and this afternoon.

The Championship weekend kicked-off last night as Burnley were beaten 2-1 at home by Wolves.

It means the Clarets' run without a home league win will go beyond the one-year mark.

Burnley took the lead at Turf Moor with Jamie Vardy's first goal for the club only for Fer Lopez to equalise before half-time.

Tawanda Chirewa won it for Wolves 18 minutes from the end to move them back into the top eight.
