    Fenerbahce 0-1 Liverpool

Almost an immediate response from Fenerbahce!

They race forward down the left, a low ball is put in and Irfan Can Kahveci smashes it against the bar!

There might have been an offside in there but it was tight.

Great strike. Absolutely delighted for Trey Nyoni. Thrilled for him.

We thought there might be a penalty at the other end but boy have Liverpool capitalised.

GOAL - Fenerbahce 0-1 Liverpoolpublished at 25 mins

    Trey Nyoni

A first Liverpool goal for the teenage midfielder!

It all starts with another teenager, Rio Ngumoha, who skips past a number of challenges to get into the box before his shot is blocked.

Liverpool get another ball into the box, it's headed out to the edge of the penalty area and Try Nyoni meets it on the volley.

Takes a deflection and Ederson is wrong-footed. No chance for him but a great moment for Nyoni.

Nyoni and Mac Allister showing again that they work really well together. Not surprised to see Iraola continuing to let them build that partnership in the middle.

    Fenerbahce 0-0 Liverpool

Fenerbahce want a penalty as Mason Greenwood goes down as he tries to get onto a ball over the top.

Kostas Tsimikas was the player closest too him and seems to give the striker a bit of a push. The referee waves it away, though, and VAR aren't going to overturn.

It's been a really strong start from Liverpool. They're keeping the ball well, frustrating the crowd and playing with a real tempo but just haven't found that killer edge in the final third yet. They've had the chances though.

  8. 'Excellent move'published at 18:09 GMT

    Fenerbahce 0-0 Liverpool

That's a perfect cross. It's screaming for a centre forward to come onto it at the back post for a tap-in. Excellent move.

    Fenerbahce 0-0 Liverpool

Lovely ball fizzed out to the right by Rio Ngumoha and Joe Gomez plays a lovely early ball across the six-yard box.

Bradley Barcola is attacking it but it's just too far ahead of him.

    All Liverpool so far.

Another Liverpool corner is headed away by Fenerbahce centre-back Milan Skriniar but the home side just can't make it stick up front and back come Andoni Iraola's side.

    Fenerbahce 0-0 Liverpool

Victor Munoz fancies his chances on that Liverpool right and surges past his man again before his cross-shot is deflected behind for another corner.

Fenerbahce deal with the set piece but Liverpool soon have possession to start building another attack.

  12. CLOSE!published at 16 mins

    Fenerbahce 0-0 Liverpool

Chance for Fenerbahce as Kostas Tsimikas' pass back to Alisson is a little short.

N'Golo Kante gets to it first but the Liverpool keeper stands up to make the save,

The whistle then goes, there was a push on Virgil van Dijk by Romelu Lukaku in the build-up.

My Turkish stepson is Fenerbahce since birth, I'm Liverpool for 50+ years. Uneasy truce in our house this evening!

A clever ball around the corner from Trey Nyoni gets Liverpool through the Fenerbahce press and Alexis Mac Allister can turn and find Kostas Tsimikas.

But the left-back's cross is overhit.

The Greek side have started on the front foot with Mijat Gacinovic and Harold Moukoudi both having early chances on target, but it's a sublime finish by Aboubakary Koita that gives them the lead.

Koita rolls the ball under his foot to cut inside and wrongfoot Marc Cucurella before lashing the ball past Thibaut Courtois.

That was really positive. Rio Ngumoha has really quick feet. He's just too quick for N'Golo Kante. Clumsy challenge.

Certainly not Dominik Szoboszlai's finest free-kick. He hits it straight into the two-man Liverpool wall set up to block Ederson's view.

  18. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Fenerbahce 0-0 Liverpool

It's got a bit scrappy in the past couple of minutes with Liverpool's progress being halted by a couple of slack passes.

However, the visitors get a free-kick that might just being in shooting range for Dominik Szoboszlai after Rio Ngumoha, starting on the left today, jinks past a man and is then brought down.

  19. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Fenerbahce 0-0 Liverpool

Alexis Mac Allister is caught in possession as Mason Greenwood snaps into a challenge but the former Manchester United man is then penalised for a push as the pair challenge for the loose ball.

The home fans did not like that decision.
