Club Brugge put three past Lens for back-to-back CL wins
Club Brugge picked up their second straight win in the Champions League with an impressive victory over Lens.
The Belgian champions were outplayed for large periods of the first half, with Lens having 11 shots on goal, compared to four for the hosts.
Winger Junior Kadile had an effort cleared off the line and saw a close-range header well saved by Yann Sommer, but it was Club Brugge who took the lead on the stroke of half-time.
A corner was flicked on by Nicolo Tresoldi and the initial save was parried into the path of captain Hans Vanaken to tap home from within the six-yard box.
Club Brugge, who won 4-2 at Inter Milan last week, doubled their lead early in the second half through left-back Joaquin Seys.
Superb play down the right saw Carlos Forbs cross for Seys, whose initial effort was saved, but he reacted quickest to force into the roof of the net.
Forbs sealed the victory on the counter-attack when he was played in down the right and lifted past the on-rushing goalkeeper.
Club Brugge visit PSV in their next game on 3 November, while Lens host Como, who thrashed Manchester United 4-1 earlier on Wednesday, on the same evening.
