    The hosts will hope to get out there tomorrow in search of those final six wickets.

    Gloucestershire are hanging on for dear life.

    The umpires have taken a light reading - to my eye it is just as dark as it was when we went off yesterday, and a similar time too.

    Ben Stokes is still tearing in, mixing up line and length with the odd short ball dug in towards the batter's ribs, but both James Bracey and Mitch Killeen are seeing him off for now.

    Killeen has advanced into double figures now, taking another boundary off Aldridge whose latest spell is now over and he'll be replaced by Brydon Carse.

    Nick Gubbins is as close to apoplectic as he dares but replays suggest that this delivery from Mir Hamza looked pretty good.

    It doesn't appear to have hit the bat and, although the Hants opener, feels it was jagging back into him too sharply, it looked like it would have hit.

    Glam have their breakthrough and have split the biggest partnership of the match.

    So the first over from Timm van der Gugten after tea costs a couple of singles and Hants stretch their lead to 71.

  6. Durham 384 v Glos 137 & 154-6

    Good shot off the back foot by Mitch Killeen gets him off the mark with four runs and dents Kasey Aldridge's rather impressive bowling figures oh so slightly.

    Killeen is taking his fair share of the strike here, with James Bracey unbeaten at the other end on 28, and he's doing well to withstand some fairly aggressive bowling by Ben Stokes, who's just sent down a maiden.

    This is very frustrating.

    Twice they saw an attempt to start play aborted due to rain at the crucial moment and the umpires have taken the decision to abandon the day.

    James Bracey has to negotiate a couple of awkward bouncers from Ben Stokes, both climbing on him and one of them is too good for Ollie Robinson behind the stumps as well.

    That brings Gloucestershire four byes and lowers their deficit to double figures. It's still quite a stretch to see them reaching parity from here though.

    Kasey Aldridge's previous best match figures in red-ball cricket were 8-78, but he's got a great opportunity to take 10 now.

    He tempts Mitch Killeen twice outside off stump, but it's a play and miss job both times as the ball flies through into the gloves of Ollie Robinson.

    James Bracey, unbeaten on 23, looks to be the key wicket if Durham are going to finish this off tonight.

    A bright start from Orr and Gubbins has put Hampshire on the front foot as they look to set up a potential declaration some time early tomorrow, weather permitting.

    Glamorgan have some questions to answer as far as their bowling effort is concerned.

    No sooner have they eclipsed their first innings score than Gloucestershire have lost another wicket.

    A fourth for Kasey Aldridge - 4-32 - and no matter what happens it means these will be his career best match figures.

    it was a very ambitious shot from Ahmed, he went at that really hard and it did nip back a bit.

    Just about the perfect session for Hants who removed the final Glam wicket at a cost of 12 runs to give them a one lead.

    Then Nick Gubbins (39) and Ali Orr (27) have looked in complete control as the home side's bowlers have struggled for length, line and any semblance of movement.

    Kiran Carlson, who has tried spin and seam, is off the field with an injury niggle after a dive to save a four but has plenty to think about.

    That's clinical from Kasey Aldridge, who's now in line for career-best match figures as he claims his ninth wicket of this contest.

    This ball is low and seaming and Daz Ahmed attempts a big heave, misses, and sees two of his stumps splayed on the ground behind him.

    Four more needed - and it's ex-Durham man Mitch Killeen, on loan to the Glosters from Essex, who stands in their way next.

    It looked a bit of desperate fielding really.

    It felt like he was making sure the ball didn't go for a boundary because the other side needed about five to win.

    It was that sort of fielding and I'm not sure he really needed to do that.

    Glam skipper Kiran Carlson is off the field after tumbling over the rope at long off trying to save a boundary off the bat of Nick Gubbins.

    Not sure he needed to effect that full length dive however it was an example to set to his side.

    A bit loose by Ben Stokes at the start of this evening session as he strays onto leg stump and James Bracey glides it behind, low past Ollie Robinson for a boundary.

    That means Gloucestershire have surpassed their first-innings total, anyway - but they still need in excess of 100 to force Durham's openers to get padded up again in this match.
