  1. Leics win toss and bowlpublished at 13:33 BST 2 September

    Notts 4-0 v Leics

We have a delayed start after three hours with Haseeb Hameed having lost the toss and been put in.

Josh Davey has the ball in hand for the visitors and he has the Notts skipper in his sights.

Hameed slices through gully for four with the first ball.

  2. Glocs win toss and bat at Bristolpublished at 13:30 BST 2 September

    Glocs v Derbys

All set for a 13:45 start at the Seat Unique Stadium with the hosts having won the toss and elected to bat.

  3. Interval - Lunch at Wantage Roadpublished at 13:23 BST 2 September

    Northants v Durham 74-2

Durham will be quite pleased after a stop-start opening session that was delayed by an hour because of rain.

After being 16-2 having chosen to bat first despite the conditions, Alex Lees and David Beddingham have started to show why.

Lees has ground it out with South African Beddingham showing an array of shots that have bled class.

WICKETpublished at 13:22 BST 2 September

    Muyeye (c Waite b Finch 37) Kent 100-3 v Worcestershire

    Hundred up. Wicket.

Tawanda Muyeye's hasn't made the most of that. Nor his extra life.

After being dropped on 10, he got to 37 but has just clothed a slightly dirty delivery from Adam Finch straight to mid-on.

After taking 10 off the previous five balls to bring up Kent's ton, with two nice-looking boundaries, Muyeye has got a bit carried away and not timed it at all.

    Gift for Finch.

    And the Pears.

    Essex v Sussex 63-2

Back underway after lunch and a nudge down to long-on from Charlie Tear off Simon Harmer brings he and Charlie Tear a fifty partnership for the third wicket.

  6. Somerset make most of good tosspublished at 13:17 BST 2 September

    Somerset v Glamorgan (80-4)

Somerset have taken full advantage of what was a good toss to win, having put Glamorgan in on a murky, drizzly morning and picking up four wickets.

It took the bowlers some time to hit their stride, but the advent of Migael Pretorius changed that as he removed Asa Tribe and Kiran Carlson, the former to a brilliant diving catch by James Rew.

Craig Overton then weighed in with the wicket of makeshift opener Mason Crane, and after a short break for rain, Lewis Gregory put the icing on Somerset's cake by having Colin Ingram caught in the slips.

  7. A big toss for Leicestershire to winpublished at 13:16 BST 2 September

    Nottinghamshire v Leicestershire

This, perhaps, is more of a rivalry for Leicestershire than it is for their richer, larger northern rivals. Decades of 'nicking their best players' - as they would describe it, tends to do that for you.

This however is a miserable place for The Foxes to come in the red ball format. They haven't won here at Trent Bridge since 1998, when Leicestershire were storming to the title.

Now it's the hosts who have their sights set on back-to-back titles, while Alfonso Thomas's are trying to scramble for safety.

After a rained off morning session, they have won the toss here and won, a big toss to win on a green pitch which looks bowler friendly. Two big name batters return in Stephen Eskinazi and Ben Cox, which will help no end.

But they are up against a ruthless Notts side who will fancy victory, and their fine form in this division.

  8. 50 runs

50 stand for Lees and Beddinghampublished at 13:14 BST 2 September

    Northants v Durham 66-2

This pair see off another over from leggie Yuzvendra Chahal without undue alarm.

Lees milks a single off the fifth ball to bring up the 50 stand with David Beddingham and pinch the strike (again).

It's still drizzling and the floodlights are having a right old time of standing up for themselves amongst it all.

    We play on though. Bravo.

  9. 50 runs

    50published at 13:03 BST 2 September

    Northants v Durham 61-2

Durham bring up their half-ton as Alex Lees and David Beddingham continue their fine stand after their team's early wobble.

After Will Rhodes was toasted by Lees going for a single that wasn't there, the tall left-hander has put that calling calamity out of his mind and added 43 with the classy South African, who's playing his last game for Durham before going home.

Bedding, approaching 1,000 runs for the season has just caressed his seventh four with a florid slap through the covers.

    He's on to 36.

    But it's drizzling...

  10. Lunch at Southamptonpublished at 13:02 BST 2 September

    Hants v Warks 90-1

After being put in it's been Warwickshire's morning.

They lost Will Young early to an excellent delivery from Scott Currie but Rob Yates and Dan Mousley have batted sensibly in an unbeaten stand of 76 so far.

They've survived a few appeals. Mousley needed a full length dive to avoid being run out and nearly steered one to leg slip just before the interval but crucially they're still there at lunch.

We had a delayed start, getting underway at 11.05. Allowing for the half hour that can be added on at the end of the day only one over has been lost so far though there are threatening clouds overhead.

  11. wicket

WICKET AND LUNCHpublished at 13:00 BST 2 September

    Ingram c Abell b Gregory 13 (Somerset v Glam 80/4)

Somerset grab a fourth wicket in the final over of the session and it’s now a great morning for the hosts.

Colin Ingram is squared up by a good length ball by Lewis Gregory that straightens from a tight line and takes a thick edge to second slip.

  12. Sussex batters showing great resilience after tough startpublished at 12:55 BST 2 September

    Essex v Sussex (62-2

Having slightly surprisingly chosen to bat on a cloudy morning with drizzle in the air, Sussex may have regretted that decision when they slipped to 7-2 in just the 7th over of the morning.

Sam Cook picked up both wickets and Sussex looked in deep trouble, but enter Daniel Hughes who has batted in obvious discomfort with what looks like a hip injury, and Charlie Tear, both of whom have shown great resilience in bowler friendly conditions.

Tear had a life on 7, a very sharp chance to Matt Ctritchley in the gully and Sussex will be delighted to reach the break just 2 down

  13. Latest state of 'play'published at 12:48 BST 2 September

It's been another frustrating morning so far across the schedule with play possible in only five of today's matches.

While Division One leaders Notts haven't been able to get on, Warwickshire and Somerset have been trying to take advantage.

    Division One

Chelmsford: Essex (62-2 lunch) v Sussex

Utilita Bowl: Hampshire v Warwickshire (70-1)

Trent Bridge: Nottinghamshire v Leicestershire (No play so far)

    Taunton: Somerset v Glamorgan (68-3)

Kia Oval: Surrey v Yorkshire (No play so far)

    Division Two

Bristol: Gloucestershire v Derbyshire (No play so far)

Canterbury: Kent (90-2 lunch) v Worcestershire

Northwood: Middlesex v Lancashire (No play so far)

    Northampton: Northamptonshire v Durham (32-2)

  14. Lunch at The Ovalpublished at 12:48 BST 2 September

Surrey v Yorkshire - No play before Lunch

The covers are still on at The Oval and they're taking lunch at 12.30 as scheduled.

There's been no play in the morning session despite having a toss which Surrey won putting Yorkshire in.

  15. Resumption at Tauntonpublished at 12:45 BST 2 September

    Somerset v Glam 68-3

It was just a sharp, passing shower at Taunton and the players are quickly back out.

  16. 6 runs

Postpublished at 12:44 BST 2 September

    Hants v Warks 69-1

One delivery after surviving a caught behind appeal, the ball deflecting off his hip, Rob Yates pulls Ricardo Fuller over the short boundary at mid-wicket for six.

That brings up the 50 partnership between Yates and Dan Mousley.

  17. Lunch at Bristolpublished at 12:43 BST 2 September

    Glocs v Derbys

There will be an inspection at 13:00 at the Seat Unique Stadium.

There has been light rain all morning and another clump forecast for later in the afternoon (perhaps around 16:00) which may or may not hit.

  18. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 12:41 BST 2 September

    Essex v Sussex 62-2

Sussex chose to bat and lost Tom Haines and Tom Clark within three balls to identical deliveries from Sam Cook.

But since then Daniel Hughes, 31, and Charlie Tear, 22, have been steady for the visitors.

  19. Rain at Tauntonpublished at 12:39 BST 2 September

    Somerset v Glam 68-3

The players are off. Almost certainly for an early lunch.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:34 BST 2 September

Rhodes run out 1 (Northants v Durham 21-2)

    Oh dear...

Alex Lees and done Will Rhodes there. The left hander has turned Ben Sanderson out into the covers and set off.

Rhodes has gone straight away to be fair. But he's not in a taxi and James Sales' throw takes out the stumps as he struggles and fails to get home.

There's a big drop of the shoulders in disbelief from Lees.

There's a not-looking-back walk off and bat juggle from Rhodes.
