That could be the game-changing wicket.

Sam Curran's slower ball finally works as Pavan Rathnayake holes out to long-on, ending a fantastic partnership of 133 off just 79 balls.

Rathnayake falls for a majestic 130 off 106.

Sri Lanka are not just making a proper go of this but they're putting themselves in a position where they feel like this is on.

  3. SL 317-3published at 40 overs

    Target 430

    Close!

It's all going Sri Lanka's way as Josh Tongue deceives Dasun Shanaka with a slower ball, but it flies just over the fielder at point and trickles away for four.

10 overs to go and Sri Lanka need 109. England scored 156 off their last 10, for context.

Beautiful shot from Dasun Shanaka as Gus Atkinson misses the yorker. Sri Lanka are punishing anything loose and England are not helping themselves here.

    Huge!

Dasun Shanaka is flying. He moves to 66 off just 33 balls with a monstrous six over the leg side off Gus Atkinson, having previously driven for four through extra cover.

Sri Lanka have got themselves within touching distance now and have changed it into a shorter form game.

It is certainly squeaky bum time for England. The tables are turning here.

    Are Sri Lanka now favourites?

    SL 292-3

    Hmm, Sam Curran's struggles continue.

He's drilled through the covers for four, swept to the ropes after drifting down the leg side and then pummelled down the ground for six.

18 off the over - and in the process, Dasun Shanaka brings up his fifty off just 30 balls. They've got a lot of runs to score still but Sri Lanka are giving this a good go.

The ball has not moved. As a bowler, I'd be looking at the rule change to keep one ball at 34 overs and ask if that can be brought forward.

A ball that's doing nothing on a true pitch, as you see so often in one day cricket, leaves your margin for error as zero.

  10. SL 274-3published at 37 overs

    Target 430

Pavan Rathnayake picks up the scoring again, helping himself to two fours off Jamie Overton.

The first flies past mid-off as Overton overpitches, the second is flayed behind point.

It still feels close but England are a few wickets and a few good overs away from it being too far away for Sri Lanka. But it is entertaining either way.

    Target 430

Liam Dawson may not have claimed the wicket but just four off the over is a very good outcome for England.

    And rightly so.

It pitches miles outside the line. Shanaka survives again.

England don't think this is out.

    Gone... maybe.

Dasun Shanaka has already had one successful review, and he's going to try for another. He's given lbw trying to sweep Liam Dawson.

  16. How stat?!published at 16:00 BST 22 October

Pavan Rathnayake scores his second and fastest ODI hundred off just 87 balls. His only other ODI century came against England off 104 deliveries in January this year.

  17. 6 runs

    SL 260-3published at 35 overs

    Target 430

    Full toss, and punished.

Dasun Shanaka continues to tuck in to England's seamers. It's been another tough outing with the ball for Sam Curran today. He's conceded 41 off five overs so far.

It's been a brilliant hundred from Pavan Rathnayake. With the way he has batted through this innings he knows the job is not done yet.

He will have to get around 150 and do something like Harry Brook did. He needs to knuckle down.

    A brilliant knock!

Pavan Rathnayake punches off the back foot for a couple and brings up his century from just 87 balls. He's got there quickly, too, accelerating after his first fifty came at a run-a-ball.

I think the drinks break has come at a decent time. It's a good opportunity for England to come together and have a chat about tightening up and see out the back end of this innings.

Sri Lanka are way ahead of where England were at this stage and I know Harry Brook started to manipulate the field and bowlers but this is not over yet.
