Goodness gracious that could be in the river. Lawrence got hold of that, a beautiful swing of the bat to bring up the 300. A tiring attack and Lawrence is going after them.

    Somerset v Surrey 295-4

300 up for Durhampublished at 17:05 BST 24 September

    Lancs v Durham 301-3

Emilio Gay may have gone, but Lancashire still have Mayank Agarwal to contend with.

He is 63 not out as the gift of a no-ball from spinner Noman Ali allows Durham to pass 300, giving them a second batting bonus point.

Durham could declare now. They have more than enough against this Lancashire batting line-up.

    Warks 71-3 v Leics 125

Ben Green celebrates a wicket for LeicestershireImage source, Shutterstock

It's been a decent bowling effort by Leicestershire so far, after they were skittled out for 125 earlier in the day.

Ian Holland took the first two Warwickshire wickets to fall and Ben Green dismissed New Zealand's Will Young after tea.

There are a possible 20 overs left on day one - the Bears will probably be close to parity or ahead on runs by that time, so how Leicestershire would love at least another couple of wickets before the close to keep themselves in the contest.

    Middx 157-5 v Northants 103

A confident square cut from Ryan Higgins goes to the boundary and that brings up the all-rounder's 50.

After his four-fer earlier today, Higgins has certainly earned his corn on day one of this one.

    Reece c Edavalath b Gibbon 3 (Worcs 214 v Derbys 47-5)

It's all happening at New Road.

Luis Reece appears caught in two minds as he edges to second slip where Rehaan Edavalath finally manages to cling onto the catch at the second - or possibly third - attempt.

Derbyshire skipper Wayne Madsen is 20 not out and must be wondering what is going on at the other end.

  13. Postpublished at 16:55 BST 24 September

    Middx 145-5 v Northants 103

Change of bowling. Northamptonshire need something and something quick here.

In doing so, they've turned to something slow. Yuzi Chahal is on for a bit of leg spin.

  14. 100 runs

100 partnership for Lawrence & Foakespublished at 16:54 BST 24 September

    Somerset v Surrey 274-4

Dan Lawrence is freeing up his arms now and is playing some expansive strokes.

This one doesn't go where he intended but nethertheless it goes away for another four to bring up the 100 partnership with Ben Foakes.

A full delivery strikes the England opener on the pads as he shapes to play it into the leg-side and the umpire says 'you're on your way'.

    Somerset v Surrey 268-4

You can almost see the steam coming out of Craig Overton's ears as Dan Lawrence advances and baseball-style slaps the ball up in the air.

It's up, up and... safe as it plummets back down to earth just before the boundary rope and goes for four leaving the fielder chasing forlornly.

  19. Postpublished at 16:49 BST 24 September

    Nottinghamshire 196-5 v Yorkshire

    A statement of intent.

Good use of the feet as Mitch Hay meets Dom Bess, back into the attack, and slashes through the off side for four runs.

    Nottinghamshire's total nears 200.
