This is the second ODI in history where both team's opening batters have had a partnership of at least 140.

  2. Ind 146-0published at 24 overs

England bring back Jofra Archer as they hunt for a breakthrough - it's a change of ends with the seamer now bowling with the media centre at his back.

Rohit Sharma brings out the pull to Archer's second delivery, top-edging over Jos Buttler for four.

Two balls later he strikes another boundary with more control, guiding the ball through mid-wicket.

Rohit Sharma v Adil Rashid has been a brutal match-up in ODIs. The Indian averages 66 against Rashid, striking at over 110.

Look who's still to come for India, there's some serious batting to come.

The run-rate is at nine an over. A couple of years ago it would seem impossible, now they're all used to chasing these sort of scores. England need to break this partnership.

  5. Ind 135-0published at 23 overs

After one over of Gus Atkinson, Adil Rashid is back at the Pavilion End, with Rohit Sharma sweeping his second delivery through square for four.

Shubman Gill doesn't time his shot to Rashid's last delivery, but the ball lands safely near long-off and he runs a single.

Again zero competition between bat and ball. Who would be a bowler? Some of the best bowlers in the world reduced to nothing.

Now, does Shubman Gill go off because he can't run between the wickets? Or, does he stay in, just stand and deliver, try and hit it big because Virat Kohli is coming in next anyway?

  8. Ind 127-0published at 22 overs

Four more runs off the rest of the over.

We'll have a bit of a break as Shubman Gill is treated by a physio, seemingly for cramp.

We'll do an over comparison while we're here - England were 137-0 at this stage.

Shubman Gill doesn't seem to be in the mood to miss the ball at the moment.

  11. 6 runs

    Ind 123-0published at 21.2 overs

    Slog-swept for six!

Shubman Gill clears the boundary for the third time in this innings, dropping to a knee to heave Will Jacks over the ropes at mid-wicket.

That's what greatness is all about. Pressure is on, back against the wall, he gets a run a ball 50 and keeps going on.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Rohit Sharmapublished at 21 overs

    Ind 117-0

Consecutive fours bring up the half-century for Rohit Sharma!

The opener steps across his stumps to Gus Atkinson, who has changed ends, and flicks a boundary through fine leg.

He follows that up with another punch past fine leg to reach his run-a-ball 50.

One delivery left in the over... it's a dot ball.

India not exactly motoring here! Think England will be very confident despite no wickets fallen so far.

    Alex, Birmingham

If we can keep them at under a run a ball, they'll have to start going for it at some point.

Not a good match for people who like to see wickets in the first 20 overs. This is the second time in ODI history it has happened in England, the other time it happened was in 1980 when England played the West Indies at this ground.

  17. Ind 109-0published at 20 overs

Spin at both ends now as Will Jacks replaces Gus Atkinson.

Shubman Gill cuts his second ball through point, but only two further singles come off the rest of the over.

Interesting if Adil Rashid's slower variations can grip. There's been very little turn in this game so far, but the average speed for the spinners is the highest for a Lord's ODI in over 20 matches. Slower than 80kph (49.7mph) is unknown territory.

This is the 18th ODI in history where both sides have a hundred by the opening stand and the second ever in this country.

  20. Ind 103-0published at 19 overs

A trio of singles to start Adil Rashid's over, with the third, a sweep square from Rohit Sharma, bringing up the hundred partnership from 111 balls.

Shubman Gill then cuts a single out past short third for three.
