It seems hard to believe right now that, just after lunch, Leicestershire had league leaders Nottinghamshire on the ropes at 143-5.
Liam Patterson-White, who is closing in on a century, and Jack Haynes, who has a magnificent 150, have batted wonderfully.
It's not just that they have made a record-breaking partnership, but it has how they have got them.
They've scored at pace, playing aggressively in front of square on the on and off side.
Leicestershire may feel they are playing on a different pitch this afternoon. The life it had earlier has gone away, even with a new ball.
However, the truth is they haven't played very well at all in this evening session.
They bowled a part-time spinner, Rishi Patel, and Rehan Ahmed after tea, hoping to quickly get to the new ball. But all they did was play Patterson-White and Haynes in after tea so when a shiny new bit of leather did arrive - they could deal with it easily.
They've bowled too waywardly, not putting any pressure on these two at all.
It will be frustrating for Foxes fans, they bowled so brilliantly this morning.

Personally, I was surprised it has taken so long to bring him back onto bowl. He typically bowls wicket-to-wicket, and Josh Hull has been inconsistent and allowed Notts to score freely.
However, as I was writing, Jack Haynes hit Scrivens for consecutive boundaries through mid-wicket then through point.
Leics struggling to find an answer here.

Warwickshire lose their last three wickets for five as Manav Suthar is caught behind down the leg side.
Despite the untidy end Warwickshire will be pleased with that total. They batted in gloomy conditions on the first day and faced the brilliance of Kyle Abbott on the second.
Rob Yates secured his first century of the season with 109 and Sam Hain made 90.
Abbott finished with four wickets having passed 50 for the season and spinner Andrew Neale took three which will interest the Bears Indian international Suthar.

Gloucestershire have used four different bowlers but cannot manage to break the opening partnership between Derby's Harry Came and Yousaf Bin Naeem.
Of the four bowlers, Sai Kishore, their Indian overseas, has so far been the most expensive.
Interestingly, in his interview last night, James Bracey revealed the bowling attack was centred around Kishore and the damage he could do in both this and the fourth innings.
Gloucestershire desperately need that plan to come into fruition.
