Ollie Pope played some good shots for his 21 but then gave it away with a loose one and only one other batter, Matthew Fisher with 12, managed double figures.

Yorkshire batters Adam Lyth and Sam Whiteman finished with one run in the match between them.

Surrey surely have to bowl Yorkshire out before the close if they're to have any chance of turning the match.

He brings up his century with a pull through the vacant mid-wicket area for four off a loose delivery from Josh Hull.

He has scored brilliantly through the off-side throughout the entirety of his innings, and has led an excellent partnership with Liam Patterson-White.

A wicket on the stroke of tea means this game is evenly poised going into what will be a lengthy evening session of 40 overs.

With that wicket of Dean Elgar taken by James Coles there is a suggestion that increasingly this pitch is taking spin and the Sussex total of 275 may not look quite as vulnerable as it appears.

That being said Charlie Allison has batted beautifully so far his 38 coming off just 45 balls and with an array of shots all around the wicket he could very quickly take Essex towards parity

The Nottinghamshire pair are building an excellent partnership and looking to take on the Leicestershire bowlers, finding the boundary frequently.

Will Williams is caught by Wayne Madsen off the bowling of Brett Randall to end the innings.

Randall ends up with fine figures of 5-41 off 17.2 overs, but Gloucs will be happy with their day's work, going from 62-5 to 237 all out.

They have given their bowlers something to work with.

Before tea on the second day of a rain affected match and Yorkshire are starting the third innings of the game.

The Oval pitches have a reputation for settling down as a game goes on but it hasn't had time to do so yet in this match.

Dan Worrall and Matthew Fisher have both already beaten the bat in their opening overs.

In the fight to see who goes up with Durham, Kent have moved on to 37-1 in their second innings after bowling Worcestershire out for 217 to secure a 21-run lead.

Zak Crawley is the key you feel, he has 19 with Sam Northeast on 16.

At Wantage Road, Northamptonshire are fighting back from 62-4 to be 96-4 with Zaif Zaib 33 and James Sales on 14 in reply to Durham's 205.

The leaders total felt light but, given the amount of turn the home spinners generated, and with Callum Parkinson opening the bowling, it might turn out to be pretty competitive.

Warwickshire will want at least one more batting point as they continue their title chase.

Wicket keeper Kai Smith, favoured ahead of the out of form Alex Davies for this game, has looked nervy but he's been in for nine overs now. Sam Hain continues to punish the home side for dropping him twice and is on 85.

Aware that Surrey are in big trouble at The Oval Hampshire will be anxious to at least earn plenty of bonus points and a draw in this game.
