  1. Lunch at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 12:34 BST 8 September

    Durham 80-4 v Middlesex

The players are all following Graham Clark off the field, following his dismissal as lunch is called.

A tale of two hours really at Chester-le-Street after Middlesex won the toss.

Durham would have taken an opening stand of 43 but Ben McKinney opened the door when he edged behind off Naavya Sharma for 26.

The bowling then tightened up and it has been a lot harder in the second hour, but those two wickets in the last over from Seb Morgan in removing Mayank Agarwal for a duck and then Graham Clark have tilted things in the visitors' favour.

Alex Lees remains on 42 not out and his wicket will be an important one this afternoon.

  2. Lunch at Hovepublished at 12:33 BST 8 September

    Sussex v Surrey

No play here this morning due to rain.

But the forecast should improve later. Much later.

  3. Lunch at Derbypublished at 12:33 BST 8 September

    Derbys 89-4 v Kent

Kent's morning of course, but not as much as many may have feared as Hasan Mahmud was on a hat-trick at the earliest possible opportunity in this match.

Harry Came and Matt Montgomery's batting for the first innings both being done by 10.33 made it feel like we could have a repeat of The Oval's suddenly very bowling friendly pitch v Yorkshire last round.

But Wayne Madsen recovered well with last round's 50 on first-class debut man Muhammed Yusaf Bin Naeem for 43 runs before Kent's other Bangladesh seamer Khaled Ahmed had them both lbw.

Martin Andersson and Luis Reece get through unscathed, back in 40 minutes time.

  4. Postpublished at 12:33 BST 8 September

    Yorkshire 42-0 v Essex

This feels like a decent effort from the hosts in bowler-friendly conditions.

Jamie Porter continues from the Kirkstall Lane End and Adam Lyth picks up four runs through cover.

Porter drags the length back a little and Lyth defends compactly into the off side.

  5. Lunch at Trent Bridgepublished at 12:31 BST 8 September

    Nottinghamshire 106-4 v Hampshire

An uncomfortable morning for title-chasing Notts whenever Kyle Abbott had the ball in his hands.

The Hampshire seamer exploited a green pitch superbly as the home side were reduced to 20-3, but Jack Haynes led the fightback against his less experienced teammates.

Haynes hit two sixes and eight fours to follow his 159 against Leicestershire last week, but the return of Abbott proved his undoing when two short of 50.

A streaky inside edge for Joe Clarke brings him a boundary off Scott Currie in the final over before the interval and he will resume on 29 not out.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:30 BST 8 September

    Clark c Robson b Morgan 4 (Durham 80-4 v Middlesex)

Two wickets in the over for Seb Morgan and Middlesex are back on top!

Graham Clark gets a legside half-volley first up that he sends to the fence to get up and running.

But that's much better from Morgan from the next ball, putting it in the corridor.

A genuine edge from Clark and it's well snaffled, low down by Sam Robson at second slip with the umpires conferring that it did carry.

  7. Postpublished at 12:29 BST 8 September

    Yorkshire 36-0 v Essex

Still three slips in for Shane Snater, who bowls full and a little wide of off stump.

Runs for Will Luxton off the third ball, steering safely wide of the slips for four.

He gets into a tangle trying to drive the fifth ball, which barely moves off the square into the leg side.

Two runs flicked to square leg.

  8. Postpublished at 12:27 BST 8 September

    Notts 101-4 v Hants

Like Jack Haynes earlier on, Joe Clarke uses his feet to try and negate the threat of Kyle Abbott and whips the ball to mid-wicket for a couple as the Notts total reaches three figures.

  9. Postpublished at 12:27 BST 8 September

    Derbys 87-4 v Kent

Bertie Foreman strays legside to the lefthanded Luis Reece, should be swept for four, but he cannot quite reach it and it is four byes. Harsh on Brooke Guest that, a way away from the gloves, but as is the numerous-day way.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:26 BST 8 September

    Agarwal c Duke b Morgan 0 (Durham 76-3 v Middlesex)

Mayank Agarwal is finally put out of his misery as he gets a 25-ball duck!

The India batter has been put under real pressure by the visiting seamers and they get their reward.

Seb Morgan has Agarwal playing an unconvincing prod outside off and it's nicked behind.

  11. Postpublished at 12:25 BST 8 September

    Yorkshire 30-0 v Essex

Jamie Porter is into his fifth over and his first ball drifts into the pads of Adam Lyth, who taps it through mid-wicket for four.

He's beaten outside off stump next ball trying to defend on the front foot but survives the over.

  12. Postpublished at 12:21 BST 8 September

    Yorkshire 26-0 v Essex

Will Luxton is being kept quiet here. He tries to push one away through the off side on the back foot but there's no run.

Maiden over from Shane Snater. Luxton is on four off 22 balls.

  13. Spin at Derbypublished at 12:20 BST 8 September

    Derbys 82-4 v Kent

Well this is a surprise, this early, not just the obligatory one over before lunch klaxon.

That Oval pitch just mentioned saw basically no spin (just one over for end changing) even with international spinners on show, but even with the seam-favouring conditions at Derby Kent give former Sussex offie Bertie Foreman a chance for a couple before the lunch interval.

He starts with five dots before a cheeky single well called by Martin Andersson.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:18 BST 8 September

Haynes lbw Abbott 48 (Notts 98-4 v Hants)

    Kyle AbbottImage source, Shutterstock

"Line and length, line and length, and it will bring you wickets," says BBC Radio Solent's Kevan James.

Jack Haynes' enterprising 46-ball innings comes to an end just a few minutes before lunch as Kyle Abbott strikes early in his second spell.

The South African now has 3-12 and Haynes' dismissal brings Notts newcomer Mitch Hay to the crease to join Joe Clarke, who has 22.

    Lancashire v Glos 11-1

The briefest of showers sees the groundstaff at Old Trafford moving quickly to scramble the cover onto the pitch.

How much water got on the surface is unknown and if it will delay the 13:10 restart.

We said it could be one of those days and that's a classic example.

  16. Postpublished at 12:17 BST 8 September

    Yorkshire 26-0 v Essex

Jamie Porter strikes Adam Lyth on the pad half-forward but it's not out.

Just outside the line, plus he's bowling from round the wicket.

Lyth tries to get one away off the back foot but doesn't clear cover.

The fourth ball is legside and glanced off the pad for four leg byes.

Two runs steered to deep third.

  17. Postpublished at 12:16 BST 8 September

    Notts 97-3 v Hants

    Did that carry?

We'll give Ben Brown the benefit of the doubt there as Kyle Abbott returns for a pre-lunch spell and immediately finds the edge of Joe Clarke's bat.

A lesson in the length to bowl there for team-mates Eddie Jack and Manny Lumsden.

  18. 6 runs

Postpublished at 12:14 BST 8 September

    Notts 97-3 v Hants

    Manny LumsdenImage source, Shutterstock

A mix of good deliveries and loose ones at the moment from Manny Lumsden. Jack Haynes pulls to fine leg for six before glancing another leg-side delivery for four as he advances to 48 not out.

The youngster's first three overs have cost him 36 runs.

  19. Postpublished at 12:13 BST 8 September

    Durham 73-2 v Middlesex

    Fetch!

Alex Lees with a handsome drive for four through the covers off Seb Morgan.

Earlier in the over, he had tried something similar and it squirted away behind point for four.

Nothing lucky about that shot, though. Lees now has 39 and he feels like a key wicket for Middlesex.

  20. Postpublished at 12:12 BST 8 September

    Yorkshire 20-0 v Essex

Will Luxton is playing Shane Snater with soft hands, carefully pushing into the off side.

Snater pushes the ball out a bit wider and Luxton leaves it alone. Some outswing there. Maiden over.
