This is the first time this England bowling attack is being asked a question or two.

There are no pessimists quite like England cricket fans.

Unless England get a few wickets now, Pakistan will fancy themselves to bat for as long as possible, force England to bat and play for a draw. It's a long shot but, the more time that passes, the more Pakistan grow in confidence.

Shan Masood moves into the nineties by edging through a gap in the slips. Pakistan have done that a bit today.

Ollie Robinson has got this ball swinging. Jordan Cox groans as Babar Azam plays across his front pad.

This is exactly the sort of situation where you don't go chasing the game. Line and length will do for them eventually as the scoreboard will go nowhere.

    Glen, Leeds

    Masood 87, Babar 34

As Andy says, it's been four years since Babar Azam last scored a Test century. That would have been unthinkable when he was notching them up in the first part of his career. He has dug in here.

It's been 20 matches since Babar Azam's last Test match century.

Ollie Robinson checks an appeal because even he realises this one is too high. The rubble of Flintstones in the stands look distracted. The camera operators are too as they pick out the various outfits on show.

Is Martyn, from Lancashire, a time traveller from next summer or am I missing something here?

Accurate but not particularly threatening again from Gus Atkinson. He just needs a wicket to get himself going again.

England were a bit wayward this morning, maybe they were just thinking it would happen. You've still got to make it happen I'm afraid.

If Martyn is he'd take our record for furthest afield follower. That's usually someone in the Australian outback.

Ollie Robinson is trying to swing the ball back onto Shan Masood's pad from over the wicket. Masood is covering it well.

Is Martyn in an alternate universe where Test matches are 3 days long?... and that England only get to bat once?

    Matthew, Solihull

    Masood 85, Babar 28

Joe Root is doing his best to get Gus Atkinson a wicket. He's handed him the ball to begin this session from the other end.

He joins the dots to Shan Masood but there's not a lot of movement.

So yet again England are going to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory! They need reminding they are there to win, not just play the game! Maybe if the county game was biased in favour of results not draws, that would help!

I'm enjoying this knock from Shan Masood. He's moved his feet, he's looked nimble and played those short balls well. He's looked in fine fettle.

Ollie Robinson, who took two of the wickets in his very first over yesterday, starts us off for the afternoon.

Thanks Tim. Shan Masood is 17 runs away from being the first centurion in this series. That would be something given everything we have seen.
