Georgia Hunter Bell will want to upgrade the European silver that she won in Rome two years ago, when she lost to Ireland's Ciara Mageean.
Mageean isn't competing in Birmingham as she continues to undergo chemotherapy treatment for cancer following her diagnosis in 2015.
Agathe Guillemot of France, who took bronze in 2024, is likely to be Hunter Bell's biggest challenger for gold this evening.
