Romania's Sorana Cirstea, 35, is ranked 36th in the world - six places below Raducanu, 23.

The pair have played once before, in the third round of Wimbledon in 2021, and Raducanu emerged a 6-3 7-5 winner.

That was on grass so we’ll find out if Raducanu can repeat the victory on a hard court.

Back to Raducanu, who has had several coaches since she won the US Open in 2021.

Most recently, she split with Francis Roig following her second-round exit from the Australian Open in January.

The pair had been working together since August and Roig’s departure means Raducanu is searching for the 10th coach of her career.

It's a bit like buses - in that you wait ages for one and then two come along at the same time - for the British women today as two of them are in different ones on the same day.

Raducanu's compatriot Katie Boulter has made it through to the final of the Ostrava Open and will be playing Tamara Korpatsch for the title in the Czech Republic.

Boulter is aiming to win her first trophy on the WTA Tour since defending her Nottingham title in June 2024.
