Jan Choinski comes on the approach but Frances Tiafoe, striking the ball brutally, has all the time in the world to pick the spot for his forehand pass. It's not even really a pass, Choinski was nowhere near it. 15-30.

The Brit finds a couple of hefty serves to hold. He's on the board but still talking to himself.

What an exhausting rally, both players pulling each other from corner to corner. It's Jan Choinski who blinks first, sending a forehand long, and Frances Tiafoe lets out a guttural roar.

The mountain that Choinski needs to climb has just got bigger.

Double fault. Pressure.

The second... anguish for Frances Tiafoe, drifting a backhand into the net. Choinski had done well to take all of the pace out of the rally but Tiafoe should have done better.

Frances Tiafoe has come out firing on all cylinders in the fourth set.

He races to 0-30 and then executes a pinpoint lob over the giant Jan Choinski to bring up two break points.

If Jan Choinski is going to pull off a comeback win against Frances Tiafoe, then he probably won't be doing it tonight.

Nearly all of Court Two is in the shade now, light is fading and the cooler temperatures will start to make the court slippy soon.

But we're getting ahead of ourselves. He has to at least force a decider to have any chance of even surviving into tomorrow.

Another break point escapes Jakub Mensik on court one!

The Czech edged to a 30-40 advantage when Grigor Dimitrov netted yet another simple forehand, but his reply was to hammer long a forehand of his own.

Dimitrov kept his cool though, making the bold move serve and dink over a volley, before Mensik put another forehand reply into the tramlines.

A gruelling third set concludes when Jan Choinski puts a forehand into the net.

The Briton is up against it now.

Frances Tiafoe pops up with his seventh ace - a cool 133mph - to lead 30-15.

And he brings up number eight for a 40-15 lead and two set points.

Choinski's clearly upset but really it was that fantastic backhand from Tiafoe that created such an angle.

I think Choinski's upset about the light. It's getting really low and it's hard to see the ball amongst the shadows.

World number two Elena Rybakina, speaking on Centre Court after beating Caty McNally: "I'm really happy with that performance. I definitely improved from the first match and Caty [McNally] is a tough opponent, so I'm happy that I was focused and managed to win in two sets.

"The unforced errors were less today, which I'm glad about. The serve is something I still need to work on percentage-wise, but overall it wasn't too bad so I'm happy it is getting better and better. I'm glad I have another opportunity to play again. Thank you so much for coming everyone, it was an amazing atmosphere."

On the opportunity to become world number one for the very first time with good results in the Grand Slams: "Honestly, I'm trying not to think about it. I need to focus on one match at a time because all of my opponents are tough. You never know how you wake up and sometimes you have to battle certain things. I'm just trying to improve each game, so I'm glad I did better and I'm going to try to continue in this way.

"Hopefully it will happen soon, if not then I will just keep working."
