Much has been made of Iga Swiatek's indifferent form over the last couple of years but she comes into this second-round match at the US Open with some good momentum.

Swiatek has won 11 of her 12 matches since the grass court season ended, securing her first title of the season at the Canadian Open last month.

Her only defeat in that period was to American Jessica Pegula in the semi-finals of the Cincinnati Open just under two weeks ago.

Polish eighth seed Swiatek, who was champion at Flushing Meadows here in 2022, gets under way against world number 449 Podoroska just after 16:00 BST on Grandstand.

The pair have only met once previously, with Swiatek winning in straight sets at the French Open in 2020.
